Day 1

How could one sleep when he is about to travel to Europe the next morning? With the same excitement I did not sleep at all the night before and boarded Saturday (28 Sep 2019) early morning 5:00 AM Aeroflot Airlines from Delhi to Moscow and from then from Moscow to Budapest, with my brother. Although then I slept almost through entire journey, ;)

Powered up with my approx 7 hours sleep from total 9 hours flight journey I was ready to start exploring Budapest from the very first day, with only a little day left.

So we checked in at hour hotel “Ibis Styles” which is a very cute and cozy hotel by the way made on the theme of PacMan.

It was 5PM, After getting freshen up we went straight to Danube River side, admiring the fine Hungarian Architecture on the pedestals and buildings.

Then we headed to Vaci Street (Váci utca), which was filled with tourists and being a tourist central, there were line of cafes and shops worth having a look at.

Being a saturday night, there were a good amount of people partying and enjoying the vibes.

We sat in an Italian Cafe for our dinner and then walked around through the beautiful and lively District 5 of Budapest, experiencing the culture.

District 5 showed us why Budapest is the party destination, on the very first day!

Day 2

We started fresh and went straight to buy Hop-On-Hop-Off ticket which is a good way to explore tourist attraction points. You can board and deboard at any of the stops mentioned in their map and explore the surrounding parts.

First we went to Citadella Located at the top of Gellert hill, from where one can enjoy the panoramic view of the city. The weather and sky were clear, adding on to the beauty of the city and Danube River.

Since there was a marathon in the city that day, the route to Buda Castle was closed temporarily. So we headed to the Heroes’ square and City park which again showed us how great the Hungarian Architecture was. City park is a great destination with several attractions including a zoo, several museums, a castle, medicinal baths and even an amusement park. It also has apond in which one can enjoy boat ride.

After 2 PM, the route to Buda Castle was clear and we headed there, although Buda Castle was closed. One can get Castle Bus from the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus stop or can take a 10 minutes walk to the castle. We decided to walk uphill for to the Castle. The city was beautiful from the Castle and we clicked a few pictures of the city from up there.

Then we decided to take a walk on the Bridge and after that went to do a 1 hour Cruise Ride on Danube River. The Cruise covers the major attractions, from riverside telling about the history and architecture of these places.

The vibe was just amazing, the wind blowing through your hair, the magnificent Danube, the architecture and the lovely people.

It should be on a to do list if you’re in Budapest.

Then we went to a long alley in District 5, a few blocks away from Buda Eye, where there were many restaurants/bars and there was live music, people were drinking, singing, dancing and enjoying in that lively atmosphere. We sure had a ball of a time and ended our day on a high and energetic node.
