Situated on Mandi-Karsog road, this beautiful Himalayan lake offers breathtaking vistas of snow-peaked Dhauladhars and Bahl Valley. The trekking trail is adorned with lush green forests offering a delightful experience. A holy shrine dedicated to Kamru Nag is also located in the proximity to the lake.

Barot Valley

A hidden hamlet tucked between mighty Himalayas, Barot is a new-found destination for travellers around Mandi. Mandi is decorated with various temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located in the center of town, Bhuthnath Temple is a holy site that dates back to 1520s. Built by Raja Ajber Sen, the temple is highly visited during the auspicious occasion of Shivratri. This sacred place in Mandi contains idols of Lord Shiva and his mount Nandi at the arched-shaped entrance.

Rewalsar Lake

Rewalsar is a popular pilgrimage site in Mandi district that truly showcases the wilderness of nature. This mid-altitude lake is also known as Tso Pema Lotus Lake and revered by Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs as well. Looking for some adventurous getaway, visit Janjehli near Mandi for trekking and hiking activities. The main trek begins from Gohar, situated at 32 kms from Mandi, where you can easily reach by vehicle. Enjoy the scenic views of mountains, lush surroundings and soothing greenery.

Buddhist Gompas In Mandi

You can see a bit of Buddhist influence on Mandi due to the presence of a few beautifully built gompas or monasteries. Some Tibetan monasteries that you must visit are Drikung Kagyu Gompa Rewalsar Lake, Tashijong Gompa on Palampur-Mandi road and Rewalsar Monastery known for its Indo-Chinese architecture.

Mandi By Road - You can reach Mandi from neighbouring cities and states like Delhi, Punjab, Jammu and Haryana through regular HRTC and private VOLVO buses, cabs or your own vehicle.

Mandi By Train - The nearest broad gauge railhead is till Pathankot which further connects to narrow gauge railhead at Joginder Nagar. From Joginder Nagar you can reach Mandi by cab or bus.

Mandi By Flight - Located at 60 kms, Bhuntar is the nearest airport from where you can take a cab or bus in order to reach Mandi.
