In this trip I am taking you to Coonoor, Ooty, Pykara lake, Doddabetta mountain. I went to Coonoor to visit my cousin sister after my Hampi trip. The travel was long and boring because I missed 1 bus from Bangalore. The first thing we did in Coonoor is that we went to the Acre wild homemade cheese factory. It's a small factory but the place is secluded & scenic. We saw the cheese making process. After watching so much cheese we had to eat some so we went to Open Kitchen restaurant. It's a famous place among foodies. The place is actually very small but they have a couple of good pizza's to try out.
From lunch to the next day to Pykara lake close to Ooty. The road is great, typical roads in the mountain very narrow with a lot of hairpin bends. View is also scenic all the way if you ignore Ooty. The lake itself is very big. It is covered with trees all along. It was cloudy that day. Later it started raining as well. I enjoyed the lake though. End of day 2. The next day we went for a small hike around the house. The hike goes from small hills & tea gardens. The weather was pleasant & sunny.
Later in the afternoon we went to Doddabetta. It is like Mahabaleshwar. Close to Ooty there are a lot of tea factories. We went to one on our route. We tried a couple of flavours & also saw the entire process. Back to Doddabetta again. The view was amazing before it all got covered with clouds.
The rain made sure that we left early. There isn't much you can do at Doddabetta other than enjoying the view or take photos. And we are back home in Coonoor.
My last day in Coonoor, I had to leave in the afternoon to catch a flight from Coimbatore to Pune. The flight had small halt of 2hrs in Bangalore. I explored the airport, I must say it is the best looking airport I have ever seen. I reach in Pune by 11 pm.
