Lucknow is not just a city, it’s a culture in itself. The city tells us to explore it’s cuisine, participate in festivals, walk around the streets, and feel the air. Following are some of the best things you can do on your Lucknow tour.

Heritage Walk

You can hop around the city and experience the following-

Explore Chikankari and Zardozi embroidery works

Hookah shops

Gemstone shaping and stud jewelry making

Shop Perfumes (the local scents are called as Itra, and they are sold in tiny glass bottles.)

Watch the making of kebabs

You can hire local guide to take you to these places. You can also contact for discussion on the heritage walk plan and road travel guide.

Shopping at Chowk

Chowk is a traditional market to shop authentic Chikankari and Zardozi embroidered fabrics in Lucknow. You can also find people doing the embroidery by hand. Plus, you can also try your hands on it, the craftsmen are such open to it. On your walk around the Chowk, try the street food both, vegetarian and non vegetarian.

Architectural tour in Lucknow

You can visit the Bara Imambara square and in the vicinity you can explore the following monuments-

Rumi Darwaza

Husainabad Clock Tower

Satkhanda and

Chota Imambara

All these monuments you can cover on foot, they are located close to each other. If you have spare time, you can head straight to Agra from Lucknow and enjoy the sightseeing there as well.

Food Trail

On your Lucknow visit, do not forget to taste the local cuisine. The city is famous for kebabs and other meat dishes. Try Lucknowi biryani, Nihari, Lucknowi Paan, Malai Gilori, and Rogan Josh at least once. Do not hesitate to stop by the street vendors. They serve equally good food and you can feel the typical preparation as they are not mostly equipped with the modern kitchen.
