Getting a new job means it’s ‘pack-up’ time! You need to call the movers and shift the belongings to your new location. But, have you thought about the little pet that lives with you? There are many property owners, who do not accept tenants with pet. If you have not considered this while searching for an apartment, then you, my friend, are in a tough situation. However, if your new job is in the Research Triangle Park, you have a lot of pet friendly apartment options in Morrisville, NC and in the adjoining cities. Before you start hurrying up with the entire shifting thing, here are some factors you need to check during the house-hunting phase.

Space

Your bedroom is perfect and the living room fits well. The dining area is a bit congested, but you can manage with the space. Excuse me! Where is the space for your pet? Remember, you are not the only one who is looking for breathing space. So, find an apartment where your little friend can roam around and relax comfortably.

Safe Baffle Door

If your dog loves to move around the house curiously after you are gone, then safe baffle door is what you need. Caging them is not a good option but you can always restrict their entrance with these doors. And, don’t forget to pay a short visit during the lunch break, if that’s possible, to see whether your pet is doing fine. Let him out of the door for a few minutes. Close the door while leaving the apartment again.

Friendly Apartment

Just cleaning the corners of the room doesn’t make the apartment pet friendly. You need to find out whether the kitchen and the storing places have proper cabinets with doors, because pets love to peep through these places in search of food or just out of curiosity. If the apartment has an enclosed backyard, it will be an ideal place for your four-legged friend to have fun.

Pet Daycare

You also need to find out whether there is any daycare center near your apartment because you cannot take your pet all the way to the old center during an emergency. Also, look for places where your dogs can hang around and relieve stress. So, you have to think like a responsible owner and find an apartment that gives you all these facilities.

Read Conditions

Before you accept the keys of the new apartment, read the terms and conditions carefully. The landlord may allow only less-aggressive breeds. You may be asked about the medical state of the pet. State everything because you may land up in a legal case for hiding information from the owner.

Budget

You need to pay the rent and also take care of your pet. So, look for an apartment that is not only pet friendly, but is budget-friendly as well. Also, you need to repair any property damages caused by your dog or cat. Therefore, accept the rent only after taking into account all these points.

Any loving pet parent would want to let their four-legged family member live in its own way. But, you have to think about the laws of the new apartment as well. If this was your own house, you could probably relax the ‘rules’ a bit, but not when you are in a rented apartment.. You have to train the little one thoroughly, even if you are renting a pet-friendly apartment in Morrisville, NC or in Manhattan, New York. So find a new place not only for yourself, but also for your pet; one that allows it to stay happy, even when you are away from your apartment home.
