Masinagudi is about 230 Kms from Bangalore and the roads go through a lush green forest filled with loads of elephants, monkeys, deer and tigers.. Keep your eyes open for wild animals along the way, you will enjoy the long drive along these roads... You will also find the Theppakadu Elephant Camp along the way which has specific timings as below: Timings - Monday - Friday: 7.00 AM - 6.00 PM , Saturday: 7.00 AM - 6.00 PM , Sunday: 7.00 AM - 6.00 PM , Public Holidays: 7.00 AM - 6.00 PM. Most resorts will set up a camp fire for the night, get rather chilly out there.. It is super silent out there with only the sound of insects and birds.. Be careful about venturing out at night, the area is part of the forest reserve of the National park and animals tend to roam freely through the resorts.
* Long walks (my most fav suggestion)
* Camp Fires
* Visit to Vibudi Hills (you can rent a Jeep up to the hill from thr resort. The sunrise is especially beautiful..If you are lucky, you will stand amidst the clouds. Literally!)
* Safari through Mudumalai National Park (This is an option, though my experience was rather bad in this regard. Only saw Bears.)
Have Fun & until next time
Cheers - Nandy
