  • I left my hotel super exited at 6 in the morning for the trek to Tiger's Nest. It was a very scenic half hour drive to base. One can buy sticks for support while trekking for only 40 to 50 bucks. I can tell, it's worth it.
  • I started the climb all alone smelling the greenery all around. The climb is steep in parts but generally its easy all the way. Oh I forgot, I did have the company of a very cute dog who was my guide after just 20 odd minutes walking alone. He would overtake me , show me the way and wait for me 50 metres away. it continued for 30 odd minutes when finally i met a  very lively group from Bangalore and continued the rest of the journey with them.
  • After around 3 hours climb, we reached tigers nest. What a sight! It's a sheer 3000 feet drop from the cliff where the monastery is located. The entire monastery is nestled around huge rocks and is quite fascinating. We entered a room where the monks were praying and sat quietly watching and listening them recite mantras. But i was quite surprised when my eyes fell on the offerings made to their god. From sweets, biscuits to chips packet and cookies.
  • After spending an hour in tigers nest, we started descending. And that was toughest part of the trip actually. Already we were quite exhausted being non trekers. Though i enjoyed all the way but the last 500 feet, I was really missing not being a bird and just flying my way down. While going down, one can cliff shop, thanks to people selling trinkets, necklace, masks, etc on the sides
