Left from Mumbai to Velas around 6pm
Reached Velas at 5 am after an overnight bus journey. We directly went to the velas beach where the conservation festival was bring held. We saw the morning round of release of Olive Ridley Turtles, clicked pictures. Later we left for our home stay. We had our breakfast and took a nap for two hours. Then did a little birding around the stay. We got some great bird sightings such as the white breasted kingfisher and western reef egret.
We then left for our afternoon session at the Velas Olive Ridley Turtles conservation project. There were around 15 turtles released at this moment. It was quite a scene to watch. In the evening, we enjoyed ourselves in the beach waters looking at the serene sunset.
Post dinner, we hiked around the home stay for 5 minutes and stargazed.
We slept late and eventually did not get up early enough to catch the sunrise. We got up late and went to the beach. Played some beach volleyball and then left for Mumbai in the afternoon
