Tea gardens are the top attractions of Munnar. The tea estate of Munnar was established in the late 19th century and at present it is regarded as the prominent hub of the tea trade in the country. In another unit, the museum runs a tea processing factory with various functional equipment. The unit also displays old machines that were used in the initial days of the tea factory in Munnar in the late 19th century.
