Australia is one of the most toured countries in the world. This is because of its magnificent natural and man-made wonders that are found there. The beaches in Australia are vast and gorgeous not to mention the various activities people do there like scuba diving and driving on a straight endless ocean road. The main highlights in Australia include the opera house, scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef and walking to the Blue Mountains National Park. Australia happens to be an incredibly vast country with a very low population meaning everything is expensive due to lack of competition. The good news however, is that there are a few ways one can enjoy a long trip in Australia without going bankrupt;

Transport:The cheapest way to go around Australia is by public buses. Their charges are fairly low and some towns like Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide even have free buses.Second cheapest is to drive around with friends on a personal car so you can share the cost of fuelling. Take advantage of cheap family day trains on Sunday and avoid flights at all cost.

Accommodation:There is a way in Australia where one is given a chance to work at a ranch by some wealthy local and they allow you to fully board there for free. Hostels are the next affordable option and one can even work for their bed.Option three is to camp in a cheap caravan park and enjoy great amenities or go to a free camping site that has no amenities.It’s advisable to stay away from the hotels since they are way too expensive.

Food:Cook your own food. If you must eat out go to food halls found in department stores for cheap food or the cheap joints along the coastal area that serve great meals.

Communication:One must make calls and send messages to one place or another for survival. Go with Telstra for the great deal of 100 dollars making 1900 dollars’ worth of calls.

Drinks:Buy the infamous but sweet box of wine called Goon at 14 dollars. Any other drink in Australia costs around 7 to 10 dollars per glass.

Internet:Take advantage of the free WIFI available in libraries and McDonalds.

Book Tours as a Package:Most of the travel companies have great packages that include being taken to the best attractions in Australia at a discount.The tour guide will also cater for the entrance fee for everywhere you will go.

Free activities:There are many places one can go to see wonders for free such as the City Botanical Gardens, Museum of Contemporary Art, walk on beaches and lunar park.

Go around:One can either pay to go inside the major tourist sites or go around them. You can see the opera house from a place called Mrs. Macquarie’s and you can enjoy the Sydney Harbour Bridge using the free pedestrian pathway.

Visit on off-peak season: November through March is filled with a lot of tourists so use your Australian visa to go any other time when flights, accommodation and everything else are cheaper. The key is always to plan ahead.
