Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is situated in heart of the city i.e Connaught Place, New Delhi on Ashok road . It is one of the most prominent sikh gurudwara. The history of this gurudwara dates back to the 17th century , when it was the palace of Raja Jai Singh. It has a great architecture which you simply can’t ignore. In 1664 the eighth Sikh guru , Guru Har Krishan came to visit the king and he cured smallpox and cholera epidemic by giving water to them from the tank.

That water tank is still in the Gurudwara and has many medicinal properties. The sarovar which is housed in the temple is considered holy by sikhs. Listening to the prayer in the main hall gives inner peace. As similar to all gurudwaras, langar is served in the Bangla Sahib where everyone, irrespective of religion, caste or creed is welcome to share a meal and the kitchen serves meals to multitudes of people everyday. I often visit Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, and whenever I do it's a different feeling altogether.
