Day 1

It was the day we left from gujarat to delhi! It was summer and that is the reason i planned my trip to North along with 3 of my other friends.

We landed delhi by 6 in the evening. It was freaking hot. We were desparately waiting for our volvo which was around 9pm. Till then we enjoyed the delhi vibe and street food.

And most importantly bought our alcohol from the thekas. Always try to store your alcohol from delhi it is cheaper and better in quality than in Himachal.

Day 2

We reached Bhuntar on 13th june by 8:30 in the morning. We got quickly into the local bus for kasol. It was only 50 bucks per person. If you go for taxi they might charge you 1000.

We were amazed by the view on our way to kasol. It was one beautiful dreamy morning.

We had our bookings in The Hosteller. It was an amazing place to stay. Proper bagpacker vibe with great company to chill with. We went for a small trail to chalal and explored few cafes out of which one was Jim Morrison and my fav was Evergreen Cafe.

The day went really smooth. By the night we were all enjoying our time under the stars and bonfire.

Day 3

Another day another morning to feel. We spent our morning in the hostel playing some games in the cafe and enjoying the food in there! Later on we decided to leave for tosh.

Took a cab for 900. Price is fixed by the taxi union. We left for tosh by 12pm and reached there by 1pm. We had to trek for 20mins to reach our hotel. We stayed in Pink Floyd. The view from there was stunning. I could not take my eyes off the valley. Made few friends in the hotel and spent our night with them having some food and good music in the Pink Floyd Cafe.

Day 4

It was our 4th day and we wanted to do some himalayan adventure. Morning 11am we got ready and left from tosh to Barshaini. Trek for kheerganga starts from Barshaini. Kept our luggage in a small cafe and took trekking sticks. We were all charged up and had no clue how the day was gona roll on upon us. We started our trek by 12:30pm. By 1:30pm we realised that it was a tough job, and we didn’t wanted to look back. Boosting each one of us we kept going, took some coffee and maggi breaks and finally reached kheerganga by 5:30 in the evening. We were exhausted, but the view up there was all we needed, Nirvana❗️ But expect the unexpected, there were no tents to stay and neither did we take one. We had no option but to trek back down to barshaini. By 6:30pm we started getting back. It was scary and dark, nobody to guide us on top of it it was rainy, the path was muddy. We were already exhausted moreover there was no mobile network. We all were terrified. We had no clue what’s gonna happen. We didn’t know the route. Luckily there was a dog who kept us going behind him. He was there only to guide us. We are soo thankfull to him. He helped us get all the way down till barshaini through a different route, unknown village, phone flashlights, lots of hurdles and scared parvati river. It was a big task and we felt sooo good once we stepped on the proper road. That was it. We toook help from one of the passing localite to help us reach kasol. We headed back to our hostel and reached there around 1:00am. Trust me that was a big day and a huge lesson. Himalayas can be beautifull and at the same time can be soo difficult to challenge. Thanks to Stash- the dog, we named him stash.

Day 5

It was our last day, we thought of going to malana, and we did. Haha, that was a short but steep trek. Seeing the village, the culture, their language surprised us all. They were kind but they prefer being reserved. Can’t touch them, for them every outsider is untouchable. We took a tent for the night near Malana Village. And spent our last night starring at the stars listenning some jazz, relaxing our body and mind and preparing ourselves to leave for home the next day.

In short it was a journey which gave us lessons, views, taught some different culture gave few memories to cherrish throughout life.I would definately go back there reall soon.
