If I were to ask Bangaloreans what are you doing this weekend, what should we do on this coming weekend then one of the common answers will be of travelling to Nandi Hills.

About Nandi Hills:

Yes, Nandi Hills is the most famous and most visited getaways near Bangalore. If you are a mountain lover, looking for a pleasant getaway or you want to liberate yourself from the torturing city life or you want a short ride with your besties then this place can serve you best.

Distance from Bangalore to Nandi Hills is less than 70 Kms. You don't have to plan for this trip provided you have bikes and friends who are always ready for short escapades. This place is very popular because of the sightseeing and two Nandi temples, the temple dedicated to Yogi Nandeeshwara and big mountains which provide great opportunities to Trek Enthusiasts.

Our Journey:

It was not the first time I was travelling to this charming place. However, the reason behind my excitement was the mode by which we were travelling. Yes, it was the Mercedes GLA which my friend(Travel Enthusiast) booked from Zoom Car after he came across few offers during that period.

I would like to thank these Car Rental websites(Zoomcar, Myles etc.) for bringing a revolution in self drive car rental space. Because of them we get an opportunity to fulfil our dreams of driving these top end cars.

So, the tariff charged for this car was Rs. 3000 for a duration of 12 hours(11 PM to 11 AM) with 150 free kilometres.

We started at 4 AM in the morning. Only 1 out of us was a professional driver with rich experience of driving in ghat areas and off roads. Yes, I was a beginner at that moment. Therefore, he was suppose to pick us up from our respective locations.

Once everybody was in, the discussion was only about the car which lasted for the next 1 hour. Everyone was so thrilled that it can't be explained in words. Finally, we were on our way to Nandi Hills by 5 AM(We were little late).

"If you have decided to reach there by bike then I would suggest you to start early so that you don't miss out on getting the view of Sunrise."

Since I was a beginner, I asked him to give me the car on highway so that even I can feel the throttle of that beautiful beast. Time came when I was behind the wheels. I was feeling that there is nothing great than driving such a lovely machine created by Humans.

There are lot of eateries on the way to hills and you can easily identify it by the huge crowd over there during a normal weekend. We reached there by 6 AM in the morning and fortunately we were on time because the sun was yet to rise. Entry Fees for four wheelers was Rs. 60.

Foggy weather and the chilling environment will make you forget all your tensions and let you enjoy your time out there.

Below are the beautiful snaps which will force you to have a trip sooner if you haven't checked it off from you list of places around Bangalore:

After having spent some quality time, we started on our way back to Bangalore. Had breakfast in one of the restaurants close to highway. Returned the car by 11 AM.

My personal experience was way good than expected. Its more than a year now but these were memories created to cherish for lifetime.
