A touch of fresh breeze makes you to forget all the physical pain or stress that you went through in past 4-5hours. This is the magic of TRIUND.
TRIUND is situated in the lap of dhauladhar mountains of himalayas having dhauladhar range on one side and kangra valley on the other. Starting point of trek is GALLU(temple) and one can reach there by foot(from bhagsu nath) or via auto( Rs 200/auto).
- Starting point:- Gallu devi temple
- Distance:- 8-9km
- Time:- 4-5hours (depends)
- Best time:- March to november (Avoid monsoons)
We (group of four friends) were planning a trip and finally after searching here and there i came up with the idea of visiting this paradise on earth called TRIUND. The date(03/06/2013) was set , countdown started and we were set to launch but ......two of us ( JASPREET AND ROBIN ARORA) backed away citing some lame excuses. But remaining two rockets were determined to hit the target and we set off to hit our target. We started our journey from Patiala then via Phagwara - Hoshairpur , we reached chintpurni.
Then we started our journey like rocket and visited Chintpurni-jawala ji-kangra in one go and stayed overnight in kangra. Next day , we started our journey early in the morning and reached Mcleodganj by evening after visiting chamunda temple. And rest of the day we spent in exploring the McLeodganj.
All these places are well connected via public and private transport and one can hire private taxi(sharing basis @10-20rs only)
- Places to visit in McLeodganj
- Dalai lama temple
- Bhagsu temple
- Dal lake
- Nadi view
- St John church
On last day(6th june) we woke up early in morning and started our upward journey towards Triund. We hired auto upto Gallu temple. Trek is of easy to moderate level. You will find some difficulty in the last stretches where you see 22 curves to reach the top.
And the feel on reaching the top cannot be described in words.
Now why this trip was MISSION UNACCOMPLISHED? Due to paucity of time we missed the opportunity to visit ILAKA which is 5km from this place.
Random free advice:-
- Per head cost :- Rs.2000(approx)
- Do visit Ilaka
- Carry one woolen
- Need of guide if going to ILAKA
- Tents are available
- Carry Eatables if budget is tight...
