TRIUND – A place which can not be shunned. So, one fine day, working in office I just realized that I need a break and after some search, I decided to trek Triund. Therefore, I along with 3 other friends planned to leave for Triund a day after our discussion.
Now, We 4 people boarded a bus to Dharmshala from ISBT 43 , CHANDIGARH around 7 am. To be honest, the journey in Himachal roadways isn't that easy as they aren't much comfortable. After a long tiring journey, we finally reached Dharmshala. After that , we began our second bus journey to McLeodganj. One can easily find buses from Dharmshala to McLeodganj.
It was the month of June and McLeod was already flooded with people. Now, without any prior bookings we ransacked the Main square of McLeod however couldn't find any hotel.
After an hour of search, we finally managed to get a guest house just near to the Main Square, McLeod.
The evening was well spent at Bhagsunag fall. It has many waterfalls, an ancient temple, a public swimming pool and a fresh water spring. From the Bhagsunag temple, the waterfa is at a trek of 1km. The view from the waterfall is magnificent.
After Bhagsunag, we explored the market and finally dined in at INDIQUE -  A must visit. The views from terrace extend as far as Kangra valley and Pong Dam. The place has a great ambience and toothsome food.
Next morning, we took a cab which dropped us at the starting point of trek. The trail goes through a beautiful forest of oak, deodar.
On the way, we met many people and we just asked how far is it and everytime we got the same answer - 3 to 4 hours, Lol. Nevertheless, we kept moving and after hours of walking we could finally see the last step of the trek.
We were just about to start the final step which seemed really difficult and to our surprise it started to rain. We all were not prepared for the trek and didn't carry any umbrella or rain coat. Therefore, had to hide under trees and huge rocks.
Finally, when we climed the last step and saw the Dhauladhar Mountains covered in snow our energy came back and we were the happiest people on earth who kept on saying - Oye, Kya View hai yaar! Lol !
At the top, one could rent a tent easily. We got our tent pitched and the the view from the tent was just mind blowing.
It is advisable to carry your own supply of drinking water up here.
The next morning we started the trek back to Dharmshala. Honestly, none of us felt like going back. :)
Enjoy :)
