We recently ( 10th June, 2018) happened to visit the most common talked-about trek in Himachal Pradesh i.e. Triund, Dharamshala. We drove to Dharamshala in our own vehicle and had thought of getting an accommodation near Bhagsu, Mcleodganj however things did not go as planned as we got to know on arrival that all hotels are pre-booked and rooms are sold out.

We, then decided to look for a room in or around Dharamshala and could finally find a hotel in Chamunda, Kangara.

Next day, We started our Trek at around 1100 hours in the morning. You need to show some ID and declare your belongings ( as in water bottles, plastic bags ) at the entry as the authorities have strict regulations about not carrying alcohol and also not littering the trek.

We were faced with heavy rain and hailstorm however we were ready for it as we bought rain covers from a local shop while ascending the trek.

We reached the top in 6 hours as we have had many halts to capture the serene beauty on the way.

The view on the top is satisfying and worth all the efforts we put to climb up.

Water is pretty expensive up there for obvious reasons so it is suggested to carry bottles from the local market before starting your trek.

You could also carry some dry food items for evening snacks as everything is double the price on top.

People who book their camps in advance are accompanied with a guide who ensures that you reach the top safely and further takes care of your stay and food.

After an overnight stay, we descended the place next morning at around 9.

Things to take care:

- Travel light.

- Carry hand sanitizer.

- Rain cover.

- Packed food items.

- Water.

- Sweatshirt ( It gets cold at night ).

- Trekking shoes. The trek gets slippery while descending.
