Day 1

Booked a minibus from Saharanpur for Auli. We travelled via Roorkee, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Rudrapryaag, Joshimath. There were traffic jams on the way due to landslides and construction of new roads. So, we were only able to reach Pipalkoti (a place approx 35 km from Joshimath) and stayed there for the night.

Day 2

We woke up at 5 am for Auli and had breakfast in between. We reached Auli at 10 am. One of our friends is a relative of DIG ITBP Auli. So they graciously hosted us for tea and coffee and guided us further. We did a small trek and reached the main place where Auli lake is situated and the Nanda Devi peak is visible. There are resorts for staying in Auli which are relatively very expensive, ranging around 17k per room. You can also have a good experience in the camps at night and watch the stars. We had fun, clicked pictures and sat together around a bonfire. It costed us Rs 1000 per head including dinner and breakfast in the morning.
Auli is in Chamoli district in himalyan mountains of Uttrakhand, India. located at an elevation of 2,800 metres (9,200 ft) above sea level.
Basically Auli is famous for skiing. Cable cars are also available so you can enjoy the ride of a cable car too. They charge around 500 for a round trip in the cable car.

Day 3

We woke up at 7 am, watched the beautiful sunrise and clicked pictures. Now we had time to explore Auli more so we started walking towards the peak of the snow mountains. That's the only beauty of travel, to explore the unexplored. It was 2 pm as we came down to the ITBP Camp. We had asked the local people if there were any good places to visit around Auli so they suggested a place named Tapovan particularly known for the hot water spring. We also visited the banks of river Dhauliganga around it and had some peaceful moments. Our night stay was at a hotel near Joshimath. The best thing was we made the dinner by ourselves.
