Day 1

I started off this trip along with my three  friends from Baroda. We all met at Delhi Airport and started our journey towards Haridwar. We had booked a bus from Delhi to Haridwar. We reached Haridwar (Har ki Pauri) at 6.00am and the first thing was the sunrise which welcomed us.
We started looking for hotels for stay as we hadn't booked in prior. After a good amount of search we ended up at Hotel LA Casa, nice hotel with good amenities. Since it was morning and nothing much to do in Haridwar, we headed to Rishikesh after freshening up.
We took a auto to Rishikesh which is the daily commute, 1 hr journey it is and we stopped by at Market road for breakfast. Unfortunately the day being Holi day all shops were shut and we couldn't find any hotels for food, thinking over the bad luck we tried reaching Ram Jhula the attraction area again via auto. Finally we reached Ram Jhula and luckily found few cafes and food stall opened. First thing was hogging at the cafe before we start to roam around the place.
After breakfast our first head out place was Ram Jhula. The view of Ram Jhula, below Ganga river flowing and behind scenic view of beautiful mountains just mesmerised me.
We walked along the Ram jhula crossed the bridge and other side of the jhula was a pavement which leads to laxman jhula as well to ram jhula water area.
We walked towards the river, sat there, enjoyed the environment, the calmness in the surroundings.
Later we headed to Laxman Jhula. It being Holi day, it was difficult to walk without getting colored. Random people threw colors and water on us, somehow without minding we further walked to Laxman Jhula.
It was very crowded but managed to view the surrounding environment and enjoy it.
Later we headed back to Haridwar, for attending the aarti.
We reached Haridwar by 4pm, strolled along the streets had some food and later went near har ki Pauri ghat for watching aarti. The place was already full by 4.30pm, managed to find a place and we sat opposite to the aarti place. From 5.30pm all the pooja starts, exact aarti starts at 6.15pm with all priests standing at certain distance holding the huge aartis. By 6.30pm the aarti got over and all people gathered start offering there wishes by floating flowers in Ganga maiyaa.
Once the aarti was over, we headed to have dinner again it being busy street, we had food at small stalls, enjoying the food and headed back to hotel to end our day.
