Rishikesh is an awesome place and is best place as weekend outlet for Delhi people. We just booked Vatika Camp online and took off for a random trip without any plan on weekend from Delhi. After 5-6hrs of drive we reached the camp. It is a wonderful camp in the lap of nature. we just went down from the camp and had bath in Ganga. It was very much refreshing and relaxing. We took lunch and dinner at the camp, which was wonderful. The service at the camp was excellent. We stayed there for the night and left the next day after breakfast for rafting.. Rafting at Rishikesh is very adventurous and thrilling. We did rafting for 17kms and tumbled into the river in one of the rapids...This trip of Rishikesh was adventurous and relaxing and is very much a budget trip.
From Rishikesh we drove randomly without any plan towards Kedarnath. But we came to know from some locals at Rudraprayag that Chopta is an offbeat place which is even more beautiful than Kedarnath. So we started towards Chopta. So we went to Tungnath and then even higher than that was Chopta, and from Chopta we went even higher on khachhar to Chandrashila. Chandrashila is 15000 feet above the sea level. At that height from Chandrashila the view was beyond anyone's imagination. There were large mountains all over, there were clouds, there was silence, there were showers on and off. We took lunch over there at local shopkeeper's place, who made some big chapaati, sabji made of some grass and chillies. This trip of ours was really great and very much different experience.
