Utterly gorgeous secluded beach in Konkan

Tripoto

Hmmmm...so, as you are reading this article you must be a die hard fan of Konkan or planning to become one :-)

Konkan is India's most spectacular coastal line which starts from south mumbai, Maharashtra and extends for more than 700 kms to the border of Goa and Karnataka.

There are many scenic beaches in konkan like Tarakali beach, Ganapati pule beach, Dive agar beach, Kashid beach etc etc. but most of the beaches in that list are either commercialized or became overcrowded.

As we (Society friends) wanted to go for a vacation that too in konkan and we wanted a peace of mind.

Once one of my friend had been to Dapoli and he saw a gorgeous beach from a cliff but unable to reach there due to time constraint. So we decided to visit that beach called as Savane beach which near a village called Anjarle.

So, We decided to visit and started planning for booking a stay. Here on internet we saw a nice camping site " Ghoomakkad" and we decided to camp on a beach with Ghommakad.

So, Early on Sat morning we left pune and was looking for a good breakfast place which was after crossing Tamhini Ghat. After taking a left turn on Mandangad, we saw a board that the bridge has became old and our tempo traveller can not pass that bridge. (cars and small vehicles can pass), It was a very off moment for us as we were hungry and our breakfast place were few miles away. After taking U turn from bridge we traveled for almost 2 hrs to get back on our track.

As it was almost an afternoon we decided to skip Breakfast and  go for a lunch. We stopped at a small restaurant after crossing Mahad, called Hotel Aarush. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone as the food here was fresh, tasty and Awesome.

We reached Savane beach at around 2 pm and checked in into our tents. Our host Ruchi was too good in the hospitality.

After checking in few of the folks left for buying fresh fish from Harne port which around 10 miles from Savane beach. Harne port is the main Market for fresh fish in Dapoli area.

So, we decided to go for a sunset on a cliff near the beach. Its a water tank on the cliff, from which one can see amazing view of anjarle/Savane beach and Village. being a photo-graph-addict, I went to the secluded place near the tank to get the best sunset pictures.

After returning to hotel we went to the beach. Trust me it was a saturday evening and no one literally no one was on the beach! what a peace of mind it was. we played cricket there for half an hour and went back to our camps.

We have given the Fish to the cook and trust me he made the excellent Rawa Fry and Masala fry :-D, Veg food was also great.

After dinner we decided to go back to the beach in middle of the night. Trust me, I have never seen the stars so bright and so clear in my whole life. What an unforgettable experience that was! we almost spent 2 hours on beach and went to our camps and slept with the pleasant sound of Whistling waves.

"Ghoomakkad" has 2 camping sites one is exactly in front of beach and another one is in whistling waves beach resort. Both are good and recommended. I am posting some pictures of the property and their web page for your information.

Next day morning we went to the beach, spent some time and had breakfast there. When you are on vacation breakfast is the best thing that will ever happen to you :-D Garma Garam Poha, Upma with Solkadhi and kokam syrup and if you get Ukadiche modak with that then you gonna be the most fortunate individual on the earth haha :-D

After checking out from Ghomakkad we started our return journey to pune but the picture abhi baki hai ! I am going to tell you one more best place in Dapoli area for amazing food. It is on Karde beach. Kalpataru niwas is a lodging and food services offered by Nagavekar family in Karde. They make amazing food, in fact the best. Its a must try if you are in Dapoli area.

So, thats it for now, keep visiting my page for more updates.

My next Post will be on an Photography trip to hampi. So, stay tuned.
