Day 6 of Golden Quadrilateral continued by riding 600+ kms to Varanasi Zostel from Delhi. The road was completely new to me and so I decided to start my journey as early as possible from Delhi. Kept a target of reaching Varanasi before sunset. Lots of diversions were faced due to road works at various places enroute. The Bajaj Dominar performed really very well in some bad roads. After covering a distance of 610 kms, I reaced Zostel Varanasi around 4pm. After check in formalities, had a evening walk in the city market. Saw this place named Deena Chat Bhandar on Luxa road, which is a famous chat center that brings out the true flavors of Banarasi chat. Tomato Chat with mashed tomatoes and fiery spices is what Deena Chat is famous for. Palak Chat prepared with right amount of dahi and chutney, come highly recommended and is served with Gulab jamun. Aloo tikki, Papdi chaat, Gol gappe are the other key attractions in this chat shop. After having some 2-3 chaat items, I returned to Zostel as was quite tired of the long ride and was eagerly waiting at terrace café of Zostel and making plans of the next day. Met 3 travellers who were solo travellers across India, 1 from Amchi Mumbai and the other 2 from Delhi and Bangalore respectively. We made a plan to explore the places the next morning. Story to follow in the next blog. Stay tuned…
