Day 1

Itinerary Details Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh

Your guide for today will warmly welcome you at your hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi in between 7.45 and 8.30am. You’ll be joining a bus ride to Ninh Binh, around 90 kilometers from Hanoi, which will take around 90 minutes. On arrival in Ninh Binh your special transportation awaits! Our Jeep driver will take you on a scenic drive of around 9km to your waterfront bungalow. It is a truly unique location, on the edge of the Tam Coc River and right in the middle of the Karst Mountains.In the afternoon, at around 2pm, we’ve arranged a beautiful bike ride through the area. We ride through rice fields and the scenery on the way is just fantastic! We will visit traditional local businesses to give you the best inside about real local life here. We’ll visit a textile factory, a family that produces traditional tofu, a cement pottery, a brick factory, the village pagoda and school.

At around 5pm we will be back at your bungalow. The further evening is at your own interpretation.

Day 2

Itinerary Details Day 2: Ninh Binh - Van Long Nature Reserve – Cuc Phuong National Park – Dong Hoi

Van Long Nature Reserve is not only a natural reserve of wetlands but also of cultural relics. Van Long is legendary, a beautiful area and the largest natural reserve of wetlands. Relax, sit back and enjoy, when sitting on your local rowing boat and take in the natural beauty of spectacular mountain ranges that create a natural wall surrounded the vast expanse of water.

Established in 1962, Cuc Phuong is the oldest National Park in Vietnam. Cuc Phuong boasts an engaging cultural and wildlife heritage and enchanting scenery. Magnificent Limestone Mountains rise up majestically from the green rice-terraces and traditional stilt houses of the Muong hill-tribe. Covered in a dense forest, this landscape forms the habitat for some of Asia's rarest animal and plant species.

7.30 After breakfast (and check-out) we start our motorbike tour with a 1-hour drive to Van Long NR.

8.20 We start the 1 hour boat ride in Van Long NR

9.30 We head on and take country side roads towards Cuc Phuong National Park. There are plenty opportunities for photo stops.

11.00 We arrive at the parks center (Bong) to enjoy an early lunch at 11.30am before we start trekking to the 1000-year-old tree.

14.00 We return to the gate of the National Park to visit the endangered primate rescue center for about 30 minutes.

15.10 We end our visit and start driving back to Ninh Binh city where we arrive at around 4.30pm (the time is estimated because we are flexible to adapt the client's requirements).

You will have some free time to enjoy dinner and relax at this beautiful spot before your jeep driver will pick you up to transport you to the train station for the overnight train to Dong Hoi.

Day 3

Itinerary Details Day 3: Dong Hoi – Dark Cave – Paradise Cave – Dong Hoi

From the train station (arrival time depending on your train) our driver (he will show a sign with your name(s)) will pick you up and take you to the hotel for breakfast. You can leave your luggage that you don’t want to take on this day safely behind! At around 8am we’ll start this beautiful and adventurous day to the 2 most impressive caves in Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park.

The first exploration of this day will beDark Cave (located in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, about 20km from Phong Nha cave and 65km from Dong Hoi (around 1h10 minutes driving). The second cave, after lunch, is Paradise cave and is about 25km from Phong Nha cave and 75km from Dong Hoi (around 1h20 minutes driving).

The order of visiting the caves can be reversed.

Dark cave is a true experience, kayaking over the river to get there, walking through the dark with only the head torch on your mining helmet, having a mud fight in the mud baths deep in the cave and then washing yourself clean with a swim in the lake inside the cave.

Activities: Muddy bath, zip lining, swimming, kayaking

Facilities: There are shower facilities here

Paradise cave is the longest dry cave in Asia!

At around 5 – 5.30 p.m. we will be back in Dong Hoi city where the tour ends.

Please bring: swimwear and a towel for swimming and showering and some dry clothing.

The rest of the evening will be at your own interpretation and overnight will be at the hotel.

Day 4

Itinerary Details Day 4: Dong Hoi – Hue

After breakfast and checkout we will take you to the train station for your day train (soft seat) to Hue where you’re pick-up service will meet you and take you to the hotel to check-in.

The further afternoon and evening is at your own interpretation.

Day 5

Itinerary Details Day 5: Hue

MORNING: Have breakfast at the hotel, and around 7.45am our guide and driver will pick you up for the packed full day itinerary ‘Discovering Hue’. We will start the tour with Dong Ba Market to see the daily life of local people then we take the Boat trip to Thien Mu pagoda - The oldest pagoda in Hue city. Imperial Citadel – The home of Vietnam's last royal dynasty, the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 - 1945) is our next stop. Before lunch, we will visit Hue Royal Antiques Museum - A collection of ornaments from the Nguyen dynasty.

AFTERNOON: We will spend the afternoon to explore the majestic mausoleums of Emperors Minh Mang and Khai Dinh.

We’ll arrive back in Hue and drop you off at around 4.30pm at your hotel. The further evening is at your own interpretation.

Day 6

Itinerary Details Day 6: Hue – Hoi An

At around 8-8.30am, after breakfast and checkout, your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hue and depart for Silver Rock Lagoon. Amongst other places we'll also visit the Elephant Spring, the Phuoc Tuong Pass and Lang Co Beach and we will enjoy lunch in a Fishing Village (the center of seafood in Huế).

After lunch we leave for the magnificent Hai Van Pass (Vietnamese: Đèo Hải Vân, "ocean cloud pass") which is an approximately 21 km long mountain pass on National Road 1A in Vietnam.

We will relax on top of the mountain so you can enjoy the magnificent views and take some pictures. As this is one of the most beautiful roads in Vietnam it really looks like heaven.

We continue along this beautiful peace of winding road before we arrive in Da Nang. Da Nang is the largest city in central Vietnam and nowadays full in motion by high-rise architecture, a city in development. Here we visit the fabulous Vietnam East Sea.

Next stop is a visit to the Marble Mountains where we hike up the mountain to visit the caves and pagodas on top.

We continue on to pay a visit to An Bang beach in Hoi An which is most likely one of the two most beautiful beaches in Hoi An before we continue to the ancient city of Hoi An where you can check-in to your hotel and explore this picturesque town by yourself.

Itinerary Details Day 7: Hoi An - …

After breakfast (included) and checkout, please respect the hotel given time; your luggage can be stored in a safe storage place at the hotel!

Today the tour unfortunately ends but we are sure that this tour made an indelible memory that you will cherish for the rest of your life!
