We decided to visit Jejuri this year along with family to continue our tradition of annual family trip which we initiated from past few years. The decision to visit Jejurigarh was mainly due to popular daily soap on Zee Marathi called "Jai Malhar" Lord khandoba who is also called "Malhari" is one of the popular among people of Maharashtra, who is also believed as incarnation of Lord Shiva who took birth on earth to kill Daitya 'Malla' Ari of Malla, I.e. "Enemy of Malla" so he is being called "Mallhari"
I was super excited to visit jejurigarh after visiting Mhalsa temple at Goa who is wife of Khandoba and incarnation of Goddess Parvati.
We took private car from our residence at Mumbai, we crossed Pune express highway, Khandala ghat, Pune city, Katraj- Saswad road, and finally Purandar Taluka of Pune district where actually Jejuri is.
We baught bag of bela bhandara which consists of lots of turmaric poweder and dry coconut pieces along with usual flowers and oti for goddess.
Everywhere there was lots of turmaric spreaded by devotees which makes Jejuri yellow city, which it makes really look like the city of gold as they say, "Sonyachi Jejuri"
Before we would reach the main fortress, there were other little temples which we met while climbing stairs were The Temple of Goddess Banai, The second wife of Lord Khandoba and temple of Hegdi Pradhan, who is believed to be Lord Vishnu who assisted Lord Khandoba by being is Minister.
The view from fortress reminded me the landscapes of Udaipur at one balcony there was constant flow air which was like natural AC. Getting darshan of Lord Khandoba was not that so easy, we had to stand in long que, take a pass of Rs. 50 each n finally the lord there. With big moustache just like a Maratha warrior. I bowed my head and received blessings from lord. Finally the Jejuri was marked off.
We took some rest there, then stepped down, all of us was so hungry, so hunted hotel, ate n marched for next destination of the day.....
