It was a cool day as just sun is turning just hot now a days in hyderabad. We started our Journey from Almasguda, took ORR to get down at Patanchervu. From there its about 70 km journey on Mumbai highway. then we will turn to state highway to drive around 35-40 km. We started at around 9.30 AM and home back by 7. 30 PM.

A Brief : The Narasimha Jhira Cave Temple is famous for its astounding structure and is known to be holy. The temple is located in the cave wherein the water is said to flow at about 300 meters approximately. The Temple is located in the hill ranges of Manichoola and opens for the general public at 08.00 o'clock in the morning. Bidar is situated in North Karnataka; this temple is a kilometer distant from the Bidar city. One has to endeavor through the intense water to make it to the lord. The temple is dedicated to the invincibly powerful God Narasimha, and is also referred to as the Jharani Narasimha Temple & the Narasimha Zarna Cave temple. Each year, thousands of people come to the temple to have their wishes fulfilled. This holy temple is situated inside a cave. Devotees who want to visit the cave temple can opt for air, rail or road travel. The temple is operational between 07.00 in the morning to 18.00 in the evening.
History : According to the mythology of this temple, Narasimha Jhira, the great lord, first destroyed Hiranyakashipu & further proceeded to kill demon Jalasura who was known to be a loyal devotee of God Shiva. Lord Narasimha, after killing the demon took the form of water & started flowing towards Lord Shiva. This is why people need to literally strive its way to get the blessings of Lord. There are arrangements which were made recently to make sure that there is proper ventilation and electricity. Everyone has to bathe with the water outside the temple. There are two deities that are located at the end of the cave namely, a Shiva Linga, which was worshiped by the demon Jalasura & Lord Narasimha. Due to little space over here, only 8 people can take darshan while the others actually have to wait in the water. People gather in this temple with the idea that the deity at Narasimha Jhira Cave is, in itself swayambhu roopam, meaning, the deity is self established & it is powerful. He is the 4th birth of Lord Vishnu and is semi lion & semi human.
Significance : The temple has a cave, which is 300 ft long. As one walks or so to say wades through the water, he would experience the feeling of gradually going deep into the water and finally he has to wade through the flowing water which is almost neck or shoulder deep, inside the cave. One has to be careful while travelling through the water, because there is no lighting. A perennial stream of water is believed to have been flowing continuously for hundreds of years in this place. It is an adventurous & thrilling experience to walk through water that is waist deep for about 300 feet through a cave-like tunnel, to gain a view of Lord Narasimha.
Festivals / events / gatherings : People can offer Sanja / Puri to god. This is Collected at Ganapati Mandir outside For distribution. Navagraha puja , holy bath in Patalaganga are precious here. Devotees bring children to give hair at this pilgrimage. Donations are taken in cash. Annadanam performed every Saturday from morning 9 AM to 10 AM. We can cook food here as there is lot of space around in addition to accommodation provided by Devastanam.
Special Notes : There are two Narasimha Murthis in this temples. One at the Entrance of the cave other is at the end of the cave. Currently the cave is under renovation. At present dharsan / arati is available at the entrance of cave . No one is being allowed inside the cave.
There are two Restaurants at a distance of 5-6 km from temple while going to Hyderabad. Both are offering full meal / tiffin's. At temple there is no food available. Accommodation is also Available here.
