Day 2

If you are travelling to Udupi, Karnataka and want to spend some time in a peaceful location, then Hoode beach is the place. This beach is 15KM from Udupi and 06KM from the Malpe beach. The beach is less explored because of the popularity of the Malpe beach hence less crowded, but it is certainly beautiful and quiet.

The coconut tree cover runs along the seashore accommodating multiple sea-food eateries which are open to sea view( Thank god, that one shack which served Neer-Dosa with Veg curry is an Oasis in the desert for vegetarians like me ). And the main attraction is the ample availability of Toddy( Palm wine ), a drink naturally derived from the coconut trees. The beach has been kept clean and allures you to spend some time with shore waves. All these things, along with the calm sea breeze, add up to your sunset experience.

If you finish having food soon, and you think there is plenty of time left to the sunset, ride through the road which runs parallel to the sea. At some point, you would find a river to your right, which is racing to join the sea. After 5-6KM on the same road, you would reach the delta point where the river joins the sea. If you still have more time, enjoy the boat ride here. Be careful of the water here which has sudden dept.

Overall a better alternative, if you have already seen Malpe beach or want to spend some time in a less crowded place.
