Mandarmani-- One of the most visited place so far short time trip is earmarked. The nearest train station is at Contai, but mostly people enjoy the roadtrip through Kona Expressway. It takes about 3.5-4 hours from Kolkata. From Kolkata, you can also catch a bus at Esplanade or at Howrah headed for Chawalkhola, or any bus headed towards Digha. From Chawlkhola there are cycle-rickshaws and auto-rickshaw which you can take to Dadanpatrabar and/or Mandarmoni. You can also hire a car from Chawalkhola for Mandarmoni. The beach, delta, sea waves, food and ambiance will refresh your soul. There are plenty options for staying varies depends upto budget.

Itachuna Rajbari--The other name for Itachuna Rajbari is ' Bargee Danga'. The term has been derived from Bargee , which was a name given by the bengali's to the Maratha warriors. One can stay with family/friends and its a good choice for 1 night stay in the midst of history. From Kolkata take Durgapur Expressway via Dakhineswar or Vidyasagar setu. After driving for around 1 hr you will cross Azad Hind Dhaba and then Hindusthan Hotel on the left, take the next left exit and turn right under the bridge, this is Bosipur, now drive straight towards Halusai which is 19 kms from Bosipur, take left towards Khanyan Railway Station. After 10 mins drive from Halusai, ITACHUNA RAJBARI is on the left hand side of the road. One can also reach the place by Train : Board any Burdwan bound train via main line or Memari /Panduah local from Howrah Station, get down at Khanyan station which is next to Talandu station (Bandel, Adisaptagram, Mogra, Talandu, Khanyan). Different categories of rooms are available from rs 2100/- onwards. The most attractive things of Itachuna Rajbari is FOOD. That's something extraordinary, one needs to taste at least a time in life specially those who are foody bong. From there, one can visist Hangsehwari Temple, Imambara and other nearest historical places too.

Mukutmanipur--Mukutmonipur is 55 km from Bankura and is situated near the confluence of rivers Kangsabati and Kumari.Green forests surround the vast bluish tract of water. Hillocks are essentially a dream come here.Trains are available from Kolkata to the nearest railhead Bankura. Regular buses are available from Bankura to Mukutmanipur - distance 55 km.

Diamond Harbour--It is 48 Km from Kolkata. Regular buses are available from Kolkata. Local trains available from Sealdah Station[2]. Buses are also available from Esplanade. You can also reach the place by road. Sailing in the river; picnic near old Portuguese fort, by the side of river; watch the jetties sail by; see the old church and burial ground; watch sunset. For staying a night, plenty options are available.

Shalboni--Salboni is a village situated in the Medinipur Sadar subdivision. 170Km from Kolkata by road. Take a cab or you can avail Ispat express to reach the place. Jungle, ancient temples, migratory birds and greenery will refresh you mind body soul. Actually we were looking for a quick gateway just to relax in the lap of nature. The idea was to do nothing and just relax that also within a restricted budget. There are few numbers of rest house for accommodation. Maharaja Udyanbati is one of them. It is also known as Shalboni Retreat. The farmhouse covers an area of around 35 bighas. It was also occupied by the British. We took a Non AC 4 bedded room (attached bathroom) for us which costs Rs 4000/- inclusive of all food i.e breakfast, lunch, supper, dinner. Apart from taking sometime to explore the jungle inside Shalboni Retreat and all around you can also sneak peak few places i.e. Kanak Durga Temple in Chikigarh forest, nearby village and the lifestyle of people , Patwar Krishi Udyan, Mediclinal garden , dulung river , a small zoo etc. If you have time also visit Jhargram Rajbari and adjacent areas

Bagriposi--Bangriposhi is well connected to Kolkata by road. If you want to visit Bangriposhi by railways then you have to get down at Balasore. Avail a bus or hire a car from Balasore to Bangriposhi.P anthasala of Orissa Tourism, Mukherjee Hotel, Simlipal Resort and Hotel Bangriposhi are some of the noteworthy hotels in Bangriposhi. In the midst of wood, silence, green a perfect place for refreshing a tired soul. Those who loves trees, Simplipal Forest will the place for refreshing your eyes. For Bengalis, Buddhadeb Guha is something special. He and his one of the creation " Bangriposhir du rattir" is the the cause for which many of us can travel the place and I can assure you, you will not regret.

Jhorkhali--Jharkhali island is an getaway of Sundarbans. One can travel By Car From Kolkata also travel By Train. Nearest Railway station is Canning. Jharkhali is an ideal place for its natural Look and its halophytic Mangrove Forest. Every day’s Meany travellers come here for Picnic or Sundarban Travel. Travellers Can Stay at the resorts. Many Resorts available in this Island. Now a mini Zoo opens here to protect Tigers. People also may see royal Bengal tiger There. Also if you want to spend few hours on the river of Sundarban to travel insight.

Deulti--Those who want to take a break from the daily hustle and bustle of the city life can plan a trip to Deulti which is a small village situated in the Howrah district. This serene village is located at a distance of approximately 6 Km towards western region of Bagnan, Howrah. This perfect vacation spot is nestled on the bank of Roopnarayan River.The distance between Howrah to Deulti is approximately 51 Km and it takes around one hour to reach Deulti from Howrah. The best mode of transport is car. One can drive along the 2nd Hooghly Bridge and take the Kona highway route. Thereafter, one will get the NH 6, one should keep driving along it and once the Bagnan station road is visible, the destination is not very far. The village of Deulti is nearby the railway station of Deulti. There are various resorts and hotels in Deulti among which the “Nirala Resort” is worth mentioning.
