Being constantly busy in the office-home rat-like schedule, we Mumbaikars are always looking for places to run away on weekends.
A week ago, my work team had been to a beautiful lovely place not very far from our office in Andheri(E) for an overnight outing. It was an hour-long drive and since we started during the wee hours, we did not get any traffic.
We reached around 8.30 a.m. and were amazed to see the spacious ground and greenery around the resort area. We quickly checked with the owner and stepped inside the resort property. As soon as you step in, on the left there are spacious cabins with lush green plants all around it; some were with pink and white flowers and some just stems with leaves. Whereas, on the right is the actual rooms and a big bungalow and as you move along the alley there is a big space where they have the cafeteria and kitchen.
After finishing the formalities, we were shown our dormitory room. As expected, it was big, breezy and with a swimming pool view.
As soon as we kept down our bags, both my boss and myself went for a quick walk around the property. They have slides, swings, swimming pools, rain dance area, a massive garden, a chicken coop, and another coop with turkey and emu.
There are variety of trees all around the resort area! The air is fresh and soothing.
Soon they served our breakfast; scrambled eggs, bread and poha! Both, the food quality and the taste were nice.
After having filled our tummies with the mouth watering breakfast, we headed straight back to our dorm to catch some sleep.
Around 1 p.m. we woke up for lunch and post lunch headed straight at the pool side. While few of my team mates enjoyed soaking in the sun by the pool or getting a dip inside, I decided to go for a walk along the narrow lanes outside the resort and capture some nature in my camera.
While there are 3 small pathways to go to, I took the one which had a direction board mentioning some temple as the destination. I walked a few miles but alas, couldn’t find the said temple and decided to turn and explore the other road. This was the main road which we had taken to reach the resort and I wanted to shoot a broken house.
It was almost 5.30 in the evening that I started to walk back towards the resort.
I then explored their garden area and the turkey-cum-emu coop! few of my team mates were on the swings and see-saw having fun and few were in the dorm room, sleeping.
Around 6.15 p.m. the assigned help boy came to call us for tea and pakoras. We chit-chatted for a while and then decided to go to the dorm room and get started with the booze.
The ambience of the place is wonderful and the staff is super co-operative and helpful. We danced, we ate, and had massive fun and before we knew, the dinner was served.
They also gave us complimentary ice-cream, which was just what was needed in the cold weather!
Since there were hardly any people that weekend, we sat outside near the cafeteria area with our drinks and played 90’s songs and the weather kept getting more and more intensely chill.
Around 4 a.m. we walked back to the dorm and tried to catch some sleep.
We left early the next day, as some of the team mates had some Sunday commitments with families. But the staff didn’t let us go without chai and biscuits, even though it was not the check-out time.
Overall, the stay was wonderful and we had super fun and loads of memories to cherish for the lifetime.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone and everyone – families, friends, couples, work people and more! It’s super relaxing amidst the nature and the food is delicious too.
