Traveling the Western Ghats is a hobby for my me and my family. Being huge widlife enthusiasts, hopping from one sanctuary/reserve to another over the years has allowed us to see a large portion of the Western Ghats. We live in Bangalore and almost always drive to the destination which always opens up opportunities to see the wonderful things that are along the way such as small hills, waterfalls, wildlife and sometimes even old temples.

To me when someone says Western Ghats, I can only think of mountains with rich forest cover and deers, elephants, Indian gaurs and wild bores. The following photos are from Bandipur, Nagarhole, BR Hills, Wayanad, Munnar/Eravikulam/Idukki, Mangalore, Murudeshwar, Chickmagaluru,Kochi, Anamudi, Thallakadu and all the small and nameless places in between. This photo series also includes the beautiful and rare Neelakurinji Bloom that takes place once in 14 years.

Er go, the Western Ghats through my various phone cameras-

Driving through the Ghats and doing it over a period of time is the best way to enjoy the Western Ghats.
