A beautiful property just 1:20 hours from Dhaula Kuan, Westin Sohna Resort & Spa is a great place to unwind for 2 nights. It is conveniently located on the Sohna-Gurgaon road and weather permitting it promises to be a wonderful staycation option.
We visited the property sometime back for 2 nights to celebrate a special day and had an amazing time. The resort has 4 categories of rooms and we had booked a Premier Room, but were upgraded to a Premier Villa as our room was not ready on time but we weren’t complainingJ. So after a great start and a welcome drink we were taken to our villa in a cart.
The villa size is nearly 600 sq ft, has a small dining area, a big attached bathroom with skylight above the bath tub. The best part about the villa is that it opens to a big sit out with few chairs and a hammock, perfect place to enjoy some bubbly in the evening. The sit out opens to a huge garden with trees and grass cover all around. The villas are spaced out very well allowing privacy to all the guests.
There are quite a few restaurants in the resort and we tried few of them. We had authentic Chinese food at Xiao Chi the first night and the food as expected was pretty nice. The chef suggested us some dishes and we weren’t disappointed.
The resort has 2 well maintained swimming pools, though different in sizes, are great to have a dip in the morning or evening. The bigger of the 2 pools has an open bar Splash to enjoy some drinks. Other activities in the resort include horse riding and spotting various animals and birds including the Emu bird which roams around in the evening. In addition to this, Westin has a small lake just next to the property, the area was being developed as an attraction.
On the second day after a swim in the pool we planned to visit the very famous Heavenly Spa by Westin at the resort, and it was an experience in itself. The service was top notch, the massage was very relaxing and the masseurs were well trained but keep in mind, quality comes at a steep price.
Fitness lovers can enjoy their time in the well maintained Westin Workout Fitness Studio which has all the required equipments. In addition, the resort organizes Gokarting activities in the property from time to time, please enquire in advance.
So after the heavenly massage, we rested for the day. We were already treated to a nice breakfast at the Living Room, the all day dining restaurant in the morning, so we ordered some room service in the afternoon and enjoyed our evening swaying in the Hammock and watching the green surroundings. For dinner we had planned to visit the Pavilion, a beautiful restaurant in the property and Westin hospitality didn’t disappoint. It was a nice place with beautiful interiors and good food and some great wine
We ended our beautiful evening and a staycation to remember with a promise to visit the place again very soon. We left Westin the next morning, feeling rejuvenated and ready to go back to the worldly affairs
