To my surprise, visiting Udaipur was a sudden add-on to my itinerary! Travelling from Jaipur, i reached Chittorgarh.(You may read my travel blog on Chittorgarh) and from there i planned on visiting Kumbalgargh.
But due to scarcity of time and Udaipur being the mid-city between Chittorgarh & Kumbalgargh, I decided to quickly explore the city.

- Jaipur Udaipur: 6 h 35 min (394.9 km)
- Chittorgarh Udaipur: 2 h 30 min (118.7 km)
via Chittorgarh Rd and RJ SH 9
How to Reach :
- If travelling from Jaipur, you can get into Rajasthan local buses and directly reach Udaipur.
- via direct flight
- From Chittorgarh, get on the bus and reach Udaipur
Where to Stay?
You may have a lot of options to stay in Udaipur, depending upon your preferences & interests.
It was the first time i booked goStops, to stay in. Situated near the lake, less than 1 km from Bagore ki Haveli, goStops Udaipur was so Viberant with comforting accommodation and a terrace.
So i reached Udaipur around 9pm and after check in into mix dorm of 12, i went out for a walk.
What all to cover in just one day?
01: Ayurvedic Spa
If you are crazy for feet massages or in short, any kind of spa/massages, you must definitely go to this centre. It’s just opposite to Gostop.
So i went for
-feet reflexology &
-head massage From the price range to the service delivered, i will definitely give it 200%
02 Monsoon Palace
Coming from the ravages of time, Sajjangarh Fort is a magnificent and stunning palace built on the Aravalli hilltop. The Palace overlooks a breathtaking view of the Lake Fateh Sagar, City Palace, and the King’s ancestral home, Chittorgarh. Unfortunately,due to foggy weather, i missed the top view.
Word of Caution: The palace is situated quite on top of the Aravalli hills, so the route is quite steep & dangerous in terms of narrow curves & cuts.
So get a two wheeler instead of a car to reach on top. I felt it was a safer call!

03 SajjanGarh Biological Park
While coming back from the Moonsoon palace, you will see the ticket counter for it.
I don’t go to Zoos anymore because the reasons are quite obvious. But this one surprised me.
This biological park is situated just beneath the Moonsoon palace, Sprawling in an area of 36 hectares, it is a home to a massive variety of wildlife.( And are kept & maintained so nicely)
As mentioned- The main objective of the park is to make people aware of the flora and fauna of the region and otherwise. To create sympathy towards the wild animals.
04 Souvenirs from Tribes India
Everything is so close! So just adjacent to the ticket counter of biological park, you will see this huge shop.
Great to buy some beautiful souvenirs ,home decor or even printed apparels in great price.
05 Hopping of Restaurants near Gostop Area
There were so many beautiful lake side restaurants,cafes you may like to explore. Will attach pictures of some places where i stopped by.
So after having dinner, i went back to Gostop to wait before i left for the bus station. You can check out and keep your luggage in their store room, & can wait for your respective train/bus/flight in their roof top lounge area.
Returning to Jaipur:
Got a sleeper Ac bus. Boarded around 1140 pm and made me reach Jaipur around 630am in morning near Sindhi camp.
