If a morning cup of java, overlooking the snow-capped peaks is all you need, then Sikkim is the place for you. Being avid ‘chai’ lovers, Deep and I (Varsha), decided to visit the less-talked-about and insanely beautiful Temi Tea Garden in South Sikkim. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, Temi tea is the only tea estate in Sikkim which was established in 1969 by the Government of Sikkim.

The quest to learn and see the production methods from scratch always crippled our minds. So, while planning a trip from Gangtok to Kewzing, we thought of stopping by at the Temi Tea Garden. Where we were welcomed by the serene ambiance, lovely people, lush greenery and slow mountain life and to be honest, it filled our souls with pure bliss!

It was rather a visual & experiential delight for teetotalers like us. And without a tinch of doubt, we can say that the flourishing tea tourism in India is here to stay.

Spread across an area of 500 acres, Temi Tea plantations boast to be one of the famous tea gardens in India and the world.

Our guide, Mr Saroz Rai, after guiding us across the factory, also insisted us to visit the beautiful Cherry Resort which is built amidst the tea plantations and is run by the officials of Temi Tea Estate. So, if you’re looking to book a secluded place amidst nature, overlooking the peaks of Kanchenjunga – you can directly call or book your stay online through their official website.
