Day 1

Jaipur has always been on top of a lot of people's wish list , and so it was on mine as well.
I took an early morning bus to Jaipur from Delhi that dropped me off at my stay around the afternoon time.
It was very close to some of the popular destinations in the city , such as the Jantar Mantar , Hawa Mahal , City palace and the entire pink city area. So without wasting anymore time, I immediately set off for these places om my hired scooty.
But no matter where I went , I was greeted with hoards and hoards of tourists . While the places were really beautiful , I would be lying if I said that I had a great time, as most of the time, all that I wanted to do was run away from the crowd .

Sea of people everywhere

Trying to pose in the midst of all the crowd .

I went back to my hostel slightly dejected , as this was not the experience I was hoping from a place I longed to go to. So I decided that I needed a better plan . In order to avoid the crowds, I decided that I shall start off very very early tomorrow, as I intended to visit Amer palace and didn't want to have a similar kind of experience . So off I went to an early sleep, hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Day 2

I woke up at around 5 am. Got ready and left my room by 5:30.
5 minutes on the road , and I began to realize that perhaps this was the best decision that I could have taken , as I was greeted by almost empty roads .
The drive to Amer fort takes about an hour from Jaipur city , and by 6:45 , I was greeted to the beautiful sight of the majestic Amer palace with nobody around.

First glimpse.

As there was still some time for the palace to open , I decided to visit some of the numerous temples of Amer city In the meantime .
First was the gorgeous Panna Meena Ka kund, just a short drive from amer fort.

The step wells were beautifully laid out , and it was here that I was greeted by a beautiful sunrise amidst centuries old temples.

It was a sheer pleasure walking around these temples. Amer boasts of hundreds of such temples , and I felt happy that I got the chance to visit atleast a couple of them . They all lie on the way to amer fort itself , so I would strongly suggest you to stop and soak in the beauty of this place. It was an experience like I had in Orccha not long ago , a feeling of being lost in time and space.
Slowly, I made my way to amer fort and palace, and guess what - I was the first person to arrive for the day !
I quickly entered the Amer palace all alone, and for the first time in my life , I almost felt like royalty as I walked alone across the stunning palace with only the occasional security guard to keep me company. It was an experience like none other - and I would give anything to experience that feeling again- just to feel, atleast for a brief amount of time, like the king of the world!

As I stepped out of my tour of Amer palace and saw hundreds of tourists outside ,I felt even better about my choice to start off early.

I then went on to visit Jaigarh fort, Nahargarh Fort ,Jal Mahal, Albert hall and revisit Hawa Mahal, Jawahar gardens all in the span of under a day , in that particular order; without compromising on time or experience anywhere .
The drive , the places where a delight to experience, and so was the food.

These are really popular destinations , and not without reason. I will not go into the details of these places ,but one tip for all those wanting to take good pictures at Hawa Mahal.
Climb up the stairs right in front of Hawa Mahal, that take you towards the cafes , from where you could sip a cup of coffee and enjoy the beautiful view.
Or , if you are not really in the mood for it, stop at the first floor, buy yourself some fridge magnets or other souvenirs at reasonable prices, and ask the kind gentlemen to take some pictures of you as well. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

And do not skip the Jawahar Gardens by any chance . Just the entrance itself will enthrall you with the sheer amount of intricate detailing that has been done on them.

Day 3

After an extremely satisfying Day 2, I did not have a lot of time at hand. So once again , I woke up early in the morning , and headed straight to Birla mandir.
The temple in itself is extremely beautiful and peaceful . And add to that another glorious sun rise , and there was not much else you could ask for from your Jaipur trip .

I decided to end my trip with one of those things that you had to try at Jaipur- Raj Kachori at Rawat Mishthan Bhandaar . It was absolute treat at very affordable prices, something that you must definitely try having , along with bejar ki roti and rabdi at Mahavir rabdi bhandaar.
I left Jaipur with very fond memories and a very important lesson .
