Bird's Nest

We all are aware the the Olympic Stadium in Beijing is popularly known as the -The Bird's Nest! This gigantic structure was the home to 2008 summer Olympic games. And what a beauty it is! It is an architectural marvel.

We got here by the metro. And as soon as you step outside the subway station,you have these permanent statues of the Mascots of 2008 Summer Olympics greeting you!

The arena shown at the back of our photograph is the place where all the aqua events of the 2008 Olympics took place.There is a ticket if you want to go inside.Although the ticket is a bit pricey!

Tada! That's Bird's Nest behind us. One thing that is worth mentioning is how well the stadiums have been maintained by the authorities.Everything in this Olympic games is very clean and in a working condition.

Done with the tour,now it was time for some lunch! We decided to try on a local Chinese restaurant,nearby to the Olympic Stadium.

We ordered a Red bean cake. It was a bit on the drier side but tasted very good! It was the right amount of sweet I must say!

We got ourselves a bowl of thick rice noodles with chicken and corn. This was a perfect way to conclude our trip!
