We work hard all year long running constantly in cobwebs of the moribund city life, without ever realizing how much we need a peaceful break! A retreat from the monotones of paved roads, skyscrapers, work, studies, and vehicles is a must if one wishes to see Mother Nature in all her grandeur – untouched, unscathed and beautiful as ever! She provides you peace and there are few better places to find peace than mountains. To be able to listen to the trickling river, the breeze blowing through the trees or the crickets chirping at night, to be able to see millions of stars spread out over countless billions of miles of space and then thinking about oneself, is a way of focusing the mind on what is actually important apart from your salary, the opposite sex and promotion. A good trip becomes fantastic if your accommodation is an experience in itself. Here is a list of few of the best places to stay or pitch your tent in India where you can let go off every day of your busy life and relax.

Sit back and get stunned by these off-beat locations to stay. If you're about to leave on a holiday or planning one, this is the list to tick!

1. Chandrashila

Chopta is one of the most beautiful and picturesque spots in the whole Garhwal. The breathtaking view of the Himalayas is treat to the eyes and soul. Waking up to a view of the mighty Chaukhambha peak just outside your tent is an experience of a lifetime. Lush green grasslands around this peak provide several spots for pitching your tent. Try to stay away from edges as wind speeds at night could be really high.
