Most admired and popular trekking path in Dharamshala is Triund. Triund is in the lap of beautiful Dhauladhar range, it has the perfect view of the dhauladhar mountains on one side and kangra valley on the other. Located about ten kilometres from the hustling city centre of McLeodganj. Triund  trek can be known as a tranquil trek which can be easily accomplished by almost all age groups.

1. Astonishing View

Triund offers excellent panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range along every curve of its path. Once you reach the top of the grassy meadows where the trek ends, the clouds suppose  to give you company and the view is absolutely spectacular! Those who forget to bring their cameras along will regret it for a long, long time.

2. Easily approachable

The Triund trek will take at best four hours to complete and though quite a few manage to do it within three hours. The path itself isn’t too wearying, even for the unseasoned trekker. If you want to save your energy for the main trek, you could also hire a cab till Gallu Devi Temple, the starting point of the trek, instead of beginning at Mcleodganj. You’ll also find a few stalls selling refreshments on the way, so you can even break the trek into parts and rest a while on the way.

3. Triund is not the end of this trek

Getting to the Triund valley is an accopmplishment. But if you want to experience  more adventure you can try hiking further to the Kareri Lake, where you’ll see rock-cut caves . There are no wild animals in the area, at least not during the day, so feel free to check the place out .

4. Star Gazing at Triund Heights

While it is possible to do the Triund trek in a day, you can hire tent for about Rs 500 if you wish to halt for night up in the valley. You’ll find plenty of company there-especially foreigners.

Pitching camp has its own advantages. First, you get to experience the inspiring sunrise and sunset, the star-studded night sky. And you can take an early morning path towards the Kareri Lake and make the trek up even more worthwhile.

5. You can have a glimpse of Shiva Cafe and  Bhagsu Waterfalls on your way back

There are a number of return trails from Triund,  the Bhagsu waterfalls and the Shiva cafe is very famous amongst the tourist from India and Abroad. Hiking down beside the cold and clear waters will bring your trek to a close on a high note.
