Colombo, the capital city, is the starting point for most travellers. This place is a perfect blend of heritage with modernism. There is plenty to do in this city from shopping to dining to visiting famous art galleries and museums.

Area around Mount Lavina too offers stunning beauty and is a perfect choice to stay for the discerning traveller.

Often travellers underatake a short journey from Colombo to central Srilanka to head for the second largest city, namely Kandy. Here mostly people gead to visit the sacred buddhist temple called as the Temple Of the Tooth.

Here the rituals are carried out three times and then the holy water,known for its healing powers is distributed amongst those present.Here one also gets to see the Royal Palace, which lies in the north of the temple. Kandy has rich plantations, tropical rainforests and a largest population of Elephants which one gets to see in Uda Walawe National Park.

But if someone wants to unwind. a leisurely walk around Lake Kandy would suffice.Else one can enthrall in the beauty of Peredeniya National Park, one of the best botanical gardens in Srilanka.

Places like the Galle Face Promenade,a good option to stay offers some spectacular sunsets in the Indian Ocean. Its an ideal picnic spot and a great stretch to unwind.
