WMD is celebrated on 21st of June every year, yes same day as International Yoga day as it maybe just a coincident the both activities are used for Mediation in one way or other :)

ABC (Association of Biking Community Bangalore) has achieved a milestone by organizing this Grand event, engaging 63 Biking Clubs with more than 2500 riders joining for the ride to celebrate the #BikerBrotherhood. This event for all the riders, anyone can register the biking club or as solo registration at fee of Rs199 only.

Krantiveer Stadium was picked up as gathering point to start off the ride at 6AM, but it was amazing to see riders starting lined up as early as 3:30AM in the morning. (well I am being lazy head, reached at 5 AM). We, Bengaluru Benellians were all ready before the time and waited patiently to get the green flag from the ride marshals to kick off the ride to the final venue- Kamat Upachar restaurant on the Tumkur road.

The volunteers spread across the route made the life easy for all the riders, keeping everyone on the track and guiding them to the venue with coordination with traffic police and other government bodies.

The breakfast was setup on the time, we found a small queue as reached early. It was included in the entry fee and decent arrangements were done. The only missing thing was setting up the drinking water at few places.

For me, the most interesting part was to see senior riders from the Government organizations like BBMP and Ministry of Tourism, its a pleasure when they shared the dream of making road safe for Bikers and promoting the idea for holding event as big as IBW in Bangalore. Other interesting idea was to create few race tracks in Bangalore city to avoid stunts on the public road and promoting the Motorsports. Thanks to Mr. Naveen Raj Singh, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Sports & Sarfaraz Khan, Commissioner of BBMP.

The stage was lit up by few amazing performances like Beat Boxing, solo singing and Rapping. The Kodak Moment was the 'Helmet Dancers' tapping the stage on the beats of Rapping and beat boxing :D

Here is a small video for the main highlights of the event :0)

The event was concluded by giving up a lucky winner a brand new motorcycle (150CC, maybe a 300CC next year? ;)), 10 Riding jackets along with few goodies like T shirts.

It was getting hot and without any shades it was a pain for me to attend the event till the end, so we decided to took off. I am sure all the others riders also experienced the same as lot of the people started checking out after 10AM.

Cant wait to attend the WMD 2019 next year, where the expectation has climbed up to 5000 riders.

Till then ciao :)

P.S

It just my personal thoughts/blog and not associated with any brand/event with no intention to offend anyone.

Few thoughts:Though it was well executed, i felt few improvement could have been done:

-the sitting arrangement near the stage could have been better, maybe few tents to relax the bikers to get relieve from the sun

-few more chairs or some kind of sitting arrangement instead of standing at the back or sitting on the ground.

-maybe a storage area (locker room) facility to keep the helmets and riding gears safe.

-few displays could have helped, If the event is scaling to huge crowd.

-drinking water facility

I guess few more sponsors or slight increase in the entry fee can help to tackle such issues in future.
