I left for Gangotri soon after reaching my hotel back from Yamunotri temple. It was another day of continuous driving and being a new driver in mountains, I didn't want to take any chances. I'd say this journey was more difficult for me as compared to the one for Yamunotri. My destination was still around 45 kms far when it got night and I stopped for the night at hotel Rs. 1000. I survived that night just on 1 maggie. Next morning on 25th May 2019, I woke up early in the morning at around 5 am and left for my destination. I reached Gangotri at around 7:45 am and searched for a hotel which fortunately, I got one room for Rs. 600 per night. I got to know what I had to take a permit for going to Gaumukh (where the Bagirathi river starts from). Instead of hiring a guide, I got along with 2 persons who have also come there for Gaumukh trek and Gangotri darshan. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it till Gaumukh because I got fallen sick due to high altitude sickness after crossing Chirbasa which is in the middle (at a distance of 9 kms) of Gangotri and Gaumukh. I then decided not to further and started my descent to Gangotri. In the evening I got back to Gangotri and after having dinner, I went straight ahead to my room as I was tired a lot.
