What is the Udaipur World Music Festival?

Conceptualised and produced by Seher, a reputed Indian cultural organisation, the Udaipur World Music Festival brings together artists from across the world for a carnival that is pure bliss for music lovers. This year it will host its third edition with artists from over 10 countries such as Italy, Brazil, France, Spain, Greece, Thailand, Switzerland, Israel, Philippines. The event will feature over a 100 artists, who will set the stage on fire for three days in the majestic city of Udaipur.

When is the Udaipur World Music Festival?

The festival starts on February 9, 2018 and will continue till February 11, 2018.

Where is the festival happening?

The festival will take place at two separate locations, the Gandhi Ground and Fateh Sagar Pal. You can get here by taking a flight to Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Airport or the Dabok Airport, which is located at a distance of 22km from Udaipur. You can also drive to Udaipur from Delhi, which takes up to seven hours via NH-8.

Why you should go for it

Spend three days of the new year with the best of international artists serenading you in the picturesque backdrop of the city of lakes. Here is a look at what the three days have in store for you:

Day 1: The first day of the Udaipur World Music Festival 2018 will take off at the Gandhi Ground, featuring the likes of Brazilian artist Flavia Coelho and the Italian music trio Oi Dipnoi. The The day's highlight, however, will be the performance by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

Day 2: The second day of the festival will begin at 8am at Amet Haveli, where the entry is by invitation only. It will feature performances by the Hindustani Classical vocalist Shubhadra Desai and the Petrakis Lopez Chemirani Trio from France, Spain and Greece. The free-for-all afternoon concerts will begin at Fateh Sagar Paal and will feature artists such as Shubh Saran and Maati Bani. The evening concerts at Gandhi Grounds will have performances by Asia 7, Astitva, and Nojazz among others.

Day 3: Welcome the final day of the Udaipur World Music Festival 2018 at Fateh Sagar Pal with performances by the Swiss band Amine and Hamza, and Indian artist Ankur Tiwari, among others. The final evening at Gandhi Grounds will feature artistes like The Ransom Collective and the Anand Bhaskar Collective.
