Explore Sapa in 2 Days 1 Night with Sapa Express – A Perfect Mountain Escape from Hanoi

Tripoto

Have you ever dreamed of waking up among misty mountains, rice terraces, and peaceful ethnic villages?

That’s exactly what you’ll find in Sapa — the most picturesque town in northern Vietnam.

I recently joined a 2 Days 1 Night trip to Sapa with Sapa Express, and it turned out to be one of the most comfortable and scenic journeys of my Vietnam trip.

Day 1 – Hanoi to Sapa (7:00 AM Departure)

Our journey began early in the morning.

At 7:00 AM, the Sapa Express bus departed from 204 Tran Quang Khai Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

The bus was incredibly comfortable — spacious seats, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, mineral water, and even a massage mode! The staff spoke English clearly and were very attentive.

We enjoyed beautiful views of the countryside during the 5.5-hour drive, with a short tea break on the way.

By around 12:30 PM, we reached Sapa town, surrounded by misty mountains and cool fresh air (around 15°C). After hotel check-in and lunch, we started exploring the highlights of Sapa.

Afternoon – Cat Cat Village Trek

Our local guide took us to Cat Cat Village, home to the H’mong ethnic minority.

It was an easy trek with breathtaking views of terraced rice fields, waterfalls, and small wooden houses. The villagers were friendly, and we learned about their traditional weaving and local culture.

In the evening, we walked around Sapa Town Square, tried local coffee, and had a warm dinner before resting for the night.

Day 2 – Fansipan Mountain & Return to Hanoi (3:00 PM)

The next morning after breakfast, we visited Fansipan Mountain, the highest peak in Indochina (3,143m).

The Fansipan cable car ride offered an amazing view over the clouds — a must-do experience in Sapa!

After descending, we had lunch and some free time to shop for souvenirs or explore Sapa market before heading back.

At 3:00 PM, the Sapa Express bus departed from Sapa and arrived in Hanoi around 8:30 PM — smooth, safe, and on time.
