Hello Everyone,

I would like to start this blog with my own belief, that is, “if you want to fly to your dream destination, you have to feel your destination before you start flying, and imaginably you have to see how it is”. On the same phase, as I have traveled so many countries in past few year, each and every place irrespectively having its own history, beauty and charm.

Today I will talk about my Greece Tour, I always wanted to be there. Even before we decided and book this trip, I had gone through photos, places to roam around and even typical Bollywood movie shot at all around Greece.

Then finally we were on the board to fly to Greece, we started from Mumbai International Airport, once we reach Athens. The first thing we jumped to fill up empty stomach, you know what we had pure Indian lunch in Greece, right with Indian menu then we checked-in the hotel. After that we actually started to roam in the Athens city.

1st phase The Athens:

Day 1: I would say, Greek beauty is unbeatable ancient beauty, as we all know geographically Greece is a bunch of Islands, each and every city of Greece is covered with extraordinary pleasing beaches and magnificent architecture of Athens, we were roaming around the city, while roaming we found here beautiful buildings, tiny lanes, terrific roads. We also checked Temple of Olympia Zeus today.

Day 2: we started the day with visit to Acropolis, Parthenon and Museum. Acropolis and Parthenon are Europe’s most enduring monuments constructed in that era, entirely constructed with marbles, it is very sad to know that part of this was destroyed with a bomb in a war. In old days in that era they had a theater too, it was an open air theater like colosseum, yes this theater is small but having the same pattern as colosseum. These all three ancient masterpieces are constructed on the hill.

After a long walk we needed a break, it almost took our 4-5 hours to visit and understand all these places, yes of course we got tired.

This is the part of our historical tour of Athens.

2nd phase The Islands:

Day 3: So now here we started our journey to different-different islands of Greece by cruise, yes today we are going to see three different island located near to Athens. We are on the board on cruise, to Hydra, Hydra one of the most beautiful Island in the world, a small island with minimum population, our cruise reached to the hydra port, I cannot explain the glory of Hydra Island in my words what I have seen from my cruise when we were getting down at the port, we started our walking tour in Hydra Island, Hydra comes under Worlds Heritage Sites, it’s a complete tourist place, so many European restaurants and market streets are there, I can say this Island is white town, people of Hydra can’t change the color of walls, whole town is colored with white paint and orange on the top.

In the town we cannot go by any vehicle, either you have to walk or you have go by donkey, yes there they have a donkey station at port, as like people use horses to travel they use donkeys. But anyways we opted to roam in town by walk, so we started towards the town, my eyes were actually freezed over there while looking at beautiful tiny streets of Hydra, very small and massively attractive garnered with beautiful colorful flowers on their stairs, windows, balcony and doors, all the small tiny street were very clean and colored with white color, they have small hospital, a chemist shop, a town clock, a church and many of the beautiful restaurants in those tiny streets. We also went to the museum and church. Then we came back to cruise to move to another islands Aegina and Poros, as it was already late, still we had a small walk and roam in both of islands Aegina and Poros they are same beautiful as Hydra, and now we are back to our hotel.

Day 4: Today we departed to Mykonos by ferry, yes the another island, Mykonos also known as mini Venice, once we reach to Mykonos we had a walk to town, a coastal paved road besides beautiful Agrari beach towards town, first we visited to Traditional Windmills “chora”, as soon as I seeing it, I remembered the song “kissa hum likhenge Dile Bekaraar Ka Khat me Saja ke Phool Hum Pyaar ka” yes this is the place they shot the complete songs. The place is as more beautiful than it has picturized in the song, we spent our whole day in Mykonos streets to feel the beauty and history of the island. Then we back to our hotel in Mykonos, it was a typical Greek hotel by its beauty and architecture, we actually enjoyed the places around the hotel, we were supposed to take rest after coming back to sightseeing, but we again started to roam around nearby area of our hotel, as we reach to hotel bit early so had enough appetite and sunlight to go around.

Day 5: Today we travelled from Mykonos to Santorini by ferry, we reached Santorini Hotel, the hotel I amazingly glorious, luckily sometimes we use get sea facing balcony room and this time we got the same in Santorini, it was amazing view from our balcony to the Santorini town and sea, town was little bit far from the hotel, then we had our dinner and enjoyed view on night lights of Santorini.

Day 6: we went to visit the beautiful Santorini, it is also called “Thira” in Greek, in “Thira” they have market street, beautiful churches and night life, whole day we spent in the town only, the beauty of Thira is amazingly admiring, Thira is place like where you can roam whole night, very much lively, they opened their restaurants and market streets 24*7, people are so polite, you can’t get tired to be there, I was actually doesn’t wanted to go back to my hotel room, be honest I was actually checking that can I celebrate my husband’s birthday at sharp 12 o’clock, on the street of Thira to surprise him, since his birthday was on second next day. I want him to be surprised and make him stunningly delighted.

Day 7: we are going to so three four places to visit, out of them one Oia Village most wanted place of mine, but why?? I will share with you later. First we visited Prophet Eelias Monastery, it has built highest point of the island, it is best example of Cycladic architecture, then we moved to Oia, the place I wanted to reach as soon as possible, since the time I have seen one movie “Jodi Breaker” and the movie shot in Oia village, I wanted to see that place since I have watched it, and now we were on the way to Oia, Oia is the beautiful town like other Greek towns, it has tiny street towards the sea, to view the best sunset of the world we walked through those small tiny street of Oia, we reached to the place from where we can see best sunset of my life, but we have to wait for it, meanwhile we started roaming in Oia town, to search the places where the few Bollywood movies has shot, I actually found the same places, I was so joyful to be there on the pleasing place in the world, we both took so many picture enjoyed a lot, now its time to enjoy the sunset, yes it was amazing I haven’t even blinked my eyes for 15-20 minutes at the time of sunset, the eminent alliance of sea with sky, knot of reddish ball (the Sun), I can’t write in words what I was actually feeling at that point of time, it was actually sparkling movement of our life. After all we had pleasures in Oia, we are back to Santorini, to the hotel. but its not the time to take rest, I had some plan for night with my husband, after all its his birthday is going to be start in few hours, so I was already having plan for the night to surprise him, I told him that we are going for dinner in the night outside the hotel, we had dinner in an Indian restaurant it was delicious veg biryani and we also had a gulab jamun, then we started towards Thira, its 11.15 pm, we were enjoying the walk, checking out the shops, then went to sea side in Thira, it was a beautiful place, accommodated a church, at sharp 12 o’clock I wished him his birthday, sung a song for him, we enjoyed that moment, then came back to hotel, as we had to move in morning.

3rd phase The birthday:

Day 8: it’s my husband’s birthday, the day when we booked this trip since then I was planning for his birthday. I have already discussed about his birthday with our tour manager, so we had some plan for the evening, we took ferry for Athens, to check again the Greek history, we went to Delphi, Delphi is an ancient sanctuary, as evidenced by the various monuments built there by most of the important ancient Greek city-states, demonstrating their fundamental Hellenic unity. They had theater, Apollo temple, temple of Athens in ancient time, now one museum is also there, we walked long to see all these historical masterpiece, Delphi has its own historical values, it is also come’s under UNESCO. We took so many pictures to capture all in our memories, then started to move towards birthday party is going to be happened, yes it was a surprise to my sweetheart, on the way we went to see Corinth Canal, which connects gulf of Corinth with the Saronic gulf in Aegean Sea, it was the biggest failure of Greece to construct this canal, why? That you have check on google. now I am excited for my husband’s birthday party, he was not knowing that it is going to be happened, yes I have done all arrangement in the restaurant even eggless chocolate cake, dance on Indian Bollywood songs in Greece.

This was one of the best trip with full of fun, adventure and sweet memories.
