Blonde and BeautifulA stereotype we all love to believe, this one, disappointingly, proved only half true. However, since we're making sweeping statements here, I might as well go ahead and say that, generally speaking, Stockholm seems to have the best pick of local hotties out of all the cities we visited in the two countries. At times it did feel like everywhere we turned was another Nordic beauty - although it's worth noting that they didn't seem to be any more blonde-haired or blue-eyed than in any other city in Europe.

On Sunday we took a train 45 minutes to the little town of Sigtuna. On Sunday we took a train 45 minutes to the little town of Sigtuna. They had a Christmas Market on Sundays or as they call it Julmarknade. In Sweden Santa is called Jultomten and is a cross between a little gnome and a German/British Santa. The kids leave him a bowl of porridge on Christmas Eve. The town was so picturesque.

Lillehammer is the perfect place to do nothing. Apart from a museum and the site of the 1994 winter Olympics, there's nothing to see and yet, so much to see. Walk around and you will find quaint cobbled streets, a church with a graveyard, a moose that has walked into a pub, and a bank with a cow painted on the outside. Sit in a garden and read a book, and its easy to lose track of how much time you spend in Lillehammer.
