The following morning we headed back to Pokhara taking the same route. Morning showers turned the route slushy making the descent more challenging than initially thought. Moving ahead, the riders literally stopped and kissed the road as we hit leveled tarmac after 3 days. It had been quite a spell.

Once the capital of the Magadha Empire which later evolved to become the Mayryan Empire, Rajgir is a valley surrounded by hills. This is a very important seat of Buddhist worship in Nalanda, Bihar. Also known as Gorakhshpur, this is a town on the banks of the beautiful Rapti River. This is in the eastern part of the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated on the Nepal Border and is on the eastern side of the state capital of Lucknow. This place is also known for the Gorakhnath Temple or the Gorakhnath Math dedicated to Lord Shiva and thus is a Hindu worship place. The Buddhists also find importance here as Lord Buddha attained Parinirvana here and also breathed his last in Kushinagar which is near Gorakhpur. The great Saint Kabir, the poet is buried in Maghar, near Gorakhpur as well.
