Popularly known as Baroda, Vadodara is great travel destination for history buffs and art enthusiasts. The town is known...
Day 13: September 29, 2015:I started late at baroda and decided to enter karnataka by evening. The journey was going to be long. I left at 830 AM after breakfast and hit the highway. It took about 7 hours to reach the outskirts of Mumbai. I lost my way on the outskirts and began asking for directions. Finally, when i touched the road towards Panvel, it was about 5PM. I accidentally got onto the Express-Way and a cop was waiting to "mug" me off some money in the name of bribe. After an hours ordeal with the cop and having lost money, I found the road towards Pune and continued my journey.Almost 7 PM when I arrived on the outskirts of Pune. Time to check into a hotel.Day 14: September 30, 2015:I left Pune at 9 AM and began riding towards bangalore. The first leg of the return went peacefully as I reached the outskirts of Kolhapur. A small break for lime soda and I immediately continued riding towards Belgaum. As i crossed Belgaum it was about 2:30 PM.I knew that reaching bangalore by 10 or 11 PM was easy if I continued without a break. Just as I crossed Hubli an near Havery, the traffic cops had blocked the highway and diverted traffic towards Ranebennur and from there I had to deviate towards Davanagere. When I reached Davanagere, it was almost 630PM, due to the road condition through the villages.I had a tea and continued towards Tumkur, It was almost 10 PM when I was a few kilometers before Tumkur town. What I hadn't seen in more than a week came back to haunt me. The rain gods came down heavily and the remaining 80 kms to reach home was spent well in getting drenched. When I finally entered bangalore, it was 1145 PM. I had travelled a total of 940 kms in a little less 15 hours. I was trembling and couldn't stand on my feet as the last day journey had taken a toll on me.Finally, I had completed a full 6200 odd kms in about 15 days, going through a lot of "hardship", meeting a few friends, visiting a few places and experiencing unknown roads of the country. It is time to end the blog with a note that everyone should travel to some unknown destination by their own at some point of time in their lives.
We had a plan to halt again at Ahmedabad, but "We the Riders" aren't only riders, we are "Super Riders". We had started from Bhuj at 8 am. Our breaks were scheduled after every 100 kms, But the exciting part was that we were very close to Ahmedabad in the afternoon itself, we had covered almost 75% of the target destination....."Hmm that's exciting, we can cover 100 kms more, so that we would be close to Mumbai and the next day ride wouldn't be hectic"...Chalo let's cover 100kms more and halt at Vadodara, we decided while resting under a tree. In the evening, we had reached Vadodara to find there was heavy traffic in the city, we were dying to get a hotel. Finally we got one at the Airport....the name itself was Hotel Airport. The stay was luxurious and the comforts were much needed after this long ride. We had stayed there for a night.Day 7 - Vadodara to Mumbai

Now it was time for us to head back to Mumbai. We started riding back and at Bhuj we got our bike serviced and by night we could reach Vadodara.Next day we again started early with a motive to reach Mumbai by night. We could reach Daman by evening and again it being a union territory we had some good beers to charge ourselves for the one final time for the trip.
Early morning, the next day we were headed back to Mumbai which is nearly 800 Kms away. We did a stop-over at Vadodara, for the night, where we enjoyed the street food, before proceeding to Mumbai. Having visited both the Legends, at Dandi, and the Lions, at Gir, we brought our road trip through Saurashtra to a successful end.
It took us a lifetime to plan, cancel, re-plan and then reschedule the most cliched yet epic journey to the mountains of the Ladakh range.12 long days of mesmerizing ever changing landscapes . Mountains left us awestruck. Enormous rivers followed us everywhere. It is one of those amazingly beautiful places I believe where even the simplest of the camera can give you a pro-level splendid nature photo.Sit back , relax and enjoy Ladakh through my lens.

Honestly , while speaking a word ‘TRAVEL ‘ the first thought comes in my mind is ‘ LIFE IS A BOOK , AND THOSE WHO DO NOT TRAVEL READ ONLY ONE PAGE ’ i mean life is nothing without travelling and this is what i experienced in my journey . we explores several new places, discovers various tricks and tips of how interacts with different people of different places, learn various cultures and living stratagy life. Hence i can say that don’t judge any person by asking his/her education ,judge his/ her by how much he/she traveled.so guys ,now i come to my experience of my journey from BHOPAL to SOMNATH .That was a time of january , a climate was pretty awesome in those days. my exams were just going to end . i was reading newspaper in morning and there was a advertisement of gujarat tourism, that ad was proper organised and attractive that gave me a idea to plan for travel in gujarat. so i decided to travel somnath .after a day my exams were end and also my 2 friend wanted to join me in my trip ,so i was happy. Now the problem was that ,we need to took our journey as soon as possible, and we decided to take our journey from tomorrow. due to lack of time we could not arrange rail reservation so we decided to travel by bus .
Jehan Numa Palace Hotel's Italian restaurant La Kuchina serves delightful Italian food. Pay a visit to their bakery called Cafechino for some sinful desserts. Also, drive along the main lake on VIP road, go to Nadir Colony to spot beautiful age-old mansions, stroll around in Char Imli in the evenings and you'll have a wonderful time in this city.

The destination of the World Heritage sites of Ajanta and Ellora caves where you find a new meaning of beauty, Aurangaba...
We reached Ajanta by 11 am,caves are little away from parking place where you get Government buses to go inside Ajanta caves area.We get into that bus and within next 10-15 minutes we were at caves base location ,we brought our camera and entry tickets and started exploring biggest man-made caves I seen ever.
Day 3 started with an early morning trip to Dadar railway station to catch the Tapovan express to Aurangabad. It takes around 7-8 hours and is pretty taxing if you are not used to day time train travels. We preferred this train to avoid complications in check-in time at the hotel etc. There are overnight trains to Aurangabad and also flights from Mumbai. Aurangabad is around 300+ kms away and zoom car is also an option (we did not explore it though). We reached Aurangabad around 1PM and checked into Hotel Keys Aures . After a quick refreshment, proceeded to see Panchakki and Bibi Ka Maqbara. Bibi Ka Maqbara is a must watch though its said to be a poor imitation of Taj Mahal.
The vehicle took off and we set on our way chatting and frolicking , recording videos of ourselves and of the beaut environs of Aurangabad in the pleasant drizzle AND… of course , reminiscing over our old and new one-sided loved ones . The next stop was at a Motel about forty kms before Ajanta caves. Half of us freshened ourselves up , the other half didn’t feel like it. Notsowhite tried to take a dump twice , but to no avail. After at least three of us had relieved ourselves, we took a light breakfast , grabbed a few cans and took off again amid fun , frolic and raunchy remarks and slanders. Theslut , who was a boy. Since we were all boys , spent the journey taking the piss out of Bro. The non-kafir was the quiet and probably the maturest one. I had packed along two books, one of which was ‘the Satanic Verses’ , and throughout the trip , I managed to read no more than five pages. Finally , we arrived at the bus stop of Ajanta from where a shuttle bus would take us to the caves. We bought a few statuettes of supposedly ‘antique-stone’ (as per the seller) and then after taking along a few packets of chips and snacks and clicking a few pictures of the wondrous hills encompassing us , boarded the shuttle bus . It was a short and wavy journey through the hills and forests and was really a spectacle to behold.
We got down at Aurangabad at 8:30 am which was late as the train got delayed by 90 mins. we had our breakfast, rather I would say it was a brunch as we planned to make it till the base village, Salher wadi, without any food breaks by 3 pm and start the trek.We got into the bus at 11:00 am till Malegaon and as per the bus driver we could have reached there by 1:30 but again there was a delay and we only managed to reach Malegaon by 3 pm. Traveling in bus we weren't sure on when would we reach the base village so we decided to take the shared taxi till Satana and continue to base village from there. Thanks to our taxi driver, he agreed to drop us till Salher wadi at very nominal cost. Finally we reached the base village by 6 pm.
Before exploring Bombay we were at our friend’s place at Aurangabad, Maharashtra spending quality time with family. We had a chance to visit Ajanta. It’s a 2 hour drive from Aurangabad. A must visit if you are around Ajanta. It is a thousand years old cave and took around 700 years to construct. I would suggest reading up about Ajanta and then visiting the place rather than hiring a guide, which I did not find reliable. But yes they’ll show some interesting paintings, 3D effects and illusions inside the cave. Total there are 30 caves, only 26 are accessible the other four don’t have a way to get inside. It’ll take you around 3 hours to see all the caves.
As they say that happiness is along the journey not at the end of it, we were actually experiencing it in this road trip of Maharashtra. It was day 3 and we had to cover two more Jyotirlings which were Nagnath in Aundha and Vaijnath in Parli. We had an amazing Maharashtrian breakfast before we left.
Aurangabad is a bustling town (The world-heritage Ajanta and Ellora caves are a little distance away) and I could comfortably find a decent hotel (Hotel Karthiki) near the main bus stop. The hotel was cheap and pretty good for the tariff (Rs. 600 per night). I freshened up and then headed out to the main bus stop to figure out how to get to Lonar. Turns out Lonar wasn’t very much frequented by tourists and was more or less an off-beat destination. I guess researchers and geologists were the ones enamored by the place. So here was the deal with buses. Private buses leave at around 2.30 am to a place called Sultanpur which is about 15km from Lonar. Sultanpur lay enroute to Pune so all buses heading towards Pune might as well stop there on request. There are state transport buses from Aurangabad to Lonar as well but their availability is meager compared to the private buses. One can also take a state transport bus from Aurangabad to Jalna and then head off to Lonar. Jalna is around 100 kms from Lonar and the availability of buses to Lonar from Jalna is more than in Aurangabad. I weighed my options and decided to take a private bus at 2.30am to Sultanpur. Sultanpur is 135km from Aurangabad. The bus promptly did turn up at 2.30 am. It was an uneventful ride to Sultanpur. Reached Sultanpur at about 5.30am. Sultanpur operates private autos to Lonar Village. I parked myself in one of these and amidst “Baazigar” reached Lonar at 6.30am.
Aurangabad is a good place to visit if u love street food.... WE had street sandwich which I think not a single hi fi restaurant can make... WE tasted almost everything there which was available on the streets. There are few historical places but govt is not maintaining them so no one visit them.
This city is named after Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb. It was called Fatehpur before it took its present name. This city is gateway to the World Heritage Sites of Ajanta and Ellora caves. Developed as a modern city, Aurangabad provides all comforts and modern facilities.

Situated on the banks of River Kshipra the holy town of Lord Shiva, having very famous Mahakaleshwar temple it is one of the city which hosts famous Hindu Fair Kumbh once in every 12 years, in addition to all it also have many others temple th religious & holy vibes can be experienced as you enter the city,. In history books it was the also the capital of emperor Vikrmaditya.
In India, the Tropic of Cancer passes through the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Ancient Indian astrologers declared long ago that the line dividing the northern part above the equator passes through the ancient city of Ujjain. The point of Tropic of Cancer is marked by the Madhya Pradesh government and can be easily found.
What when you grab a chance to witness of a holy fair which comes once in every 12 years. Where around 5 billion pilgrims who dives in holy Kshipra along with Hundreds of Akhara Samiti , Naga Sadhu (saint),Monk,Vestal,Mahamandeshar dive in Holy Kshipra at Shinghast Maha-kumbh. The several kilometers long Ghat(pier) a place to set foot, all knew it even though folks were coming in huge amount. What's the matter of factwhich attracts them, such a massive crowd of faith came together even though no invitation sent to anyone, after all, what the hell is in Maha Kumbh and why it held once in every 12 years. Why it is still number 1 Pilgrimage for Hindu. Too many question which were unanswered till i visited this year Ujjain. (MP) Bumb BHOLE...!!!????Year 2016, April 22 to May 21, when it falls during Jupiter stay in Leo(Simha in Hindu astrology), then the Simhastha Maha Kumbh held at Ujjain in Madhya pradesh (India). The city Also known as Mahakaal ki Nagri or A city of temples. As per Hindu ethology or vedic scripture , every Hindu must dive onces in their life in Kumbh for get rid of all of their sins and purged . The Kumbh is held in four cities, once in every 12 years in each city . There it comes in Haridwar and Nasik with difference around 3 years and fair in Nasik and Ujjain celebrated same year or one year apart. The exact date is determined according to a combination of Zodiac positions of the Jupiter, the Sun and the Moon. The Four cities are Allahabaad (paryag) in where three rivers confluence Ganga ,Yamuna and Sarasvati (available as invisible), Nasik in Godawari, Haridwar in Ganga and Ujaain in Kshipra. (Courtesy :-by A Monk in Ujjain ) Hi everyone, it's Honey Rajpurohit. Sharing an another trip, a Holy trip infect. I'm also waiting for that day when i'll sharing a trip about wood, holy-wood. Joke a part, As i brief you above that artical for today dedicates The Shinghast Maha Kumbh 2016 which held at Ujjain in Holy Kshipra river. It was often, 'chaye pe charcha' in our abode about Kumbh fair. Nowdays i was frequently on trips and tours. One more added in my trip dairy, 'Mahakaal ki Nagri.' Many of masses unware of hindi version for 'Diary', its called 'Dainiki', Rail as'loh path aamini gaamini' and gym as 'Shareer Shadhnalye.' The Typical Hindi words. Ohh Gosh..!! "Ab kahe itna hindi ke pichey pade hain, chodiye naa. "i started my 'Yatra' (journey) along with two person who bought me to this beautiful world. My lovely Mom and as usually, soft hearted and red eyed, my Papa. We boarded the train for Ujjain from ludhiana . After few minutes of boarding, i remembered chetan's 'three mistake...' And i stuck, realised that it was my first mistake to prefer train over four wheel drive . Malwa express only a direct train which arrived in Ujjain. The Train was galloped and stoped on every fixed stoppage, mean while masses(passenger is word who travel with their desire tickets but here they Inroad in ac cabin while having journal tickets)were trying to get on the coaches like cattles in every coming station . And the most of passengers were pilgrims. It was long joureny, about 23 hours. We hardly slept due to co-passenger who kept coach busy by weep-bitterly,Scream-squeal,and here i experienced live for the word 'lol'(loughing out loud).. (Sick). The credit went for crying and screaming to all devil kid. Who the hell, wrote," kids are innocent".We reached right time at Ujjain. It was 11:30 am. We grappled to get off the coach. I didn't want to share this part of the joureny, nonetheless i shared for those who plan in future via train, hope they think twice, before. Moreover it happened when you traveled a city where you never ever before.
After breakfast we leave to see Ujjain. Ujjain, known in ancient India as Avantika, is considered the Prime Meridian by Hindu Astrologers and was placed as the center of the world in numerous ancient world maps. Called the small Varanasi, this untapped city encompasses fascinating tangible heritage sites that communicate the history of education and metaphors of the Indian civilization. Return to Indore.

Panchmarhi is a lone hill station in Madhya Pradesh, and is considered to be one of the best places to visit in May in India. Located in the Satpura hill range at a much lower altitude, Pachmarhi is a green blanket of lofty peaks and forest gorges. Earmarked by pre-historic caves with interesting rock carvings, and mesmerizing gushing waterfalls, Pachmarhi is a place of scenic beauty with an exotic wilderness which make up for sought after hiking and trekking routes. Several wildlife sanctuaries like the Satpura Tiger Reserve, Bison Lodge are a perfect getaway option for wildlife enthusiasts. How to get there: Pachmarhi is well-connected by road as well as railways, Pipariya being the nearest railway station. The nearest airports are Bhopal and Jabalpur.
Pandav caves first seemed like a normal Park, then came the end of the park and where a huge Cave was situated. We have to cross around hundred or more stairs to reach the top. ( I reached there 🙋 )After some point , I saw i was alone who was in a great need to go to the top and no one was with me. After reaching the top, I thought it was worth.
Pachmarhi is the place to be to have a quiet, uncomplicated and relaxing weekend. Get some spiritual vibes at places like Jatashankar, walk through some ancient Indian history while in Pandav caves and go to Dhoopgarh to watch a magical sunset. When in Pachmarhi, stay at Welcome Heritage Golf View Resort. It has colonial style villas with lush green lawns and toothsome Indian food.
Also known as the queen of the Satpura ranges, Pachmarhi is a beautiful hill station with stunning waterfalls. Famous places to visit are bee falls, apsara falls and dhoopgarh. Besides these you can also go for activities like para sailing, deep forest camping, rock climbing and night forest trekking.

Chittorgarh, the erstwhile capital of Mewar under the Rajputs, is an extremely popular tourist destination for history b...
Chittorgarh Fort is regarded as one of the most outstanding forts of India. It is the epitome of Rajput pride and spirit. This majestic fort is atop a 180 meter high hill covering an area of 700 meters. This one mile long fort is huge and exhaustive. One cannot explore this Fort on foot even in a couple of days. The fort can be approached through seven huge gateways.Chittorgarh was the capital of Mewar under the Rajputs. Chittaur holds memories of great sacrifices by these valiant king and queens who fought and gave their lives to protect the pride of Mewar. This is the top place to visit near Udaipur.
Chittor Fort or ChittorgarhThe Chittor Fort is one of the largest forts in India. It is a World Heritage Site, it was the capital of Mewar. The fort precinct has several historical palaces, gates, temples and two prominent commemoration towers. Chittorgarh remains replete with historic associations and holds a very special place in the hearts of Rajputs. The fort is famous for historical wars, seige and famous act of Jauhar performed by rajput queens preferring death to abduction and dishonour and committed (an act of self immolation by leaping into a large fire). Being most significant fort to Rajput state, it was attacked thrice by muslim rulers. Chittorgarh is also famous for its association with Meera Bai, the most famous female Hindu spiritual poetess.
Finally at dusk we started for Chittorgarh and after around 100 km took a halt for some good food at a dhaba and after that rode again and we were able to complete the ride in one piece and still managed to find a cheap guesthouse for a healthy and sound sleep.
We visited the Chitttorgarh fort in the morning and meanwhile got our bikes checked and done with some minor repairing. The story of how the Rajputs fought bravely and jauhar committed by ladies and children throws a light about the importance of pride and fearless life. The sacrifice given by them can never go unnoticed.
ChittorgarhThe very essence due to which the princely state of Rajasthan has been in talks is due to the valiance of the king Maharana Pratap. It is the birth place of this great king who had not only ruled the place but also the hearts of the courtiers of his palace. The Fort of Chittorgarh is the place of birth of King Maharana Pratap. His ancestors reigned the place up to many generations. The fort has been structured in such a manner that there was a separate place of living, place of worship, royal bath and a lot more. The highlights of the fort remains the Vijay Stambh till date.
Then we left for Chittorgarh. Yes, google maps again sent us to a short cut wherein my car went into the gutter lines. We reached Rnb 1589. Next day we went for the Chittod Fort, India’s no.1 fort. Chittorgarh Fort is one of the largest forts in India. It is a World Heritage Site. The fort, popularly known as Chittor, was the capital of Mewar and is today situated in Chittorgarh. It was initially ruled by Guhilot and later by Sisodias, the Suryavanshi clans of Chattari Rajputs, from the 7th century, until it was finally abandoned in 1568 after the siege by Emperor Akbar in 1567. The fort was sacked three times between the 15th and 16th centuries; in 1303 Allauddin Khilji defeated Rana Ratan Singh, in 1535 Bahadur Shah, the Sultan of Gujarat defeated Bikramjeet Singh and in 1567 Akbar defeated Maharana Udai Singh II who left the fort and founded Udaipur. Each time the men fought bravely rushing out of the fort walls charging the enemy but lost every time. Following these defeats, Jauhar was committed thrice by more than 13,000 ladies and children of the Rajput heroes who laid their lives in battles at Chittorgarh Fort, first led by Rani Padmini wife of Rana Rattan Singh who was killed in the battle in 1303, and later by Rani Karnavati in 1537 AD Padmini's Palace or Rani Padmini's Palace is a white building and a three storied structure (a 19th-century reconstruction of the original). It is located in the southern part of the fort. Chhatris (pavilions) crown the palace roofs and a water moat surrounds the palace. This style of palace became the forerunner of other palaces built in the state with the concept of Jal Mahal (palace surrounded by water). It is at this Palace where Alauddin was permitted to glimpse the mirror image of Rani Padmini, wife of Maharana Rattan Singh. It is widely believed that this glimpse of Padmini's beauty besotted him and convinced him to destroy Chittor in order to possess her. Then back to Ahmedabad.
The historic capital of the Mewar rulers, it is one of the largest forts that you can find in India. While you walk past the fort and its remains, you will read about the chivalrous deeds of the Mewar rulers and experience the battles from that time rekindle your imagination.
This is another stretch of NH 76 which connects Rajasthan to MP and UP via Kota, Shivpuri , and Jhansi. Udaipur to Chittorgarh is approx 120 Km and can be reached in less than 2 hours. The road is well maintained and in good condition. There are some good spots for break and photography in this stretch as well, as Aravalli extends to the outskirts of Udaipur. Chittorgarh has a very rich history from Rajputana dynasty. The fort is the largest in India and holds a very special place in hearts of Rajputs. The warrior King of Mewar, Maharana Pratap took an oath to spend his life living in the jungles and fighting until he could realize his dream of reconquering Chittorgarh from Akbar (and thus reclaiming the glory of Mewar). It has also been a land of worship for Meera. And don't forget to stop at SHARMA's restaurant on the way to have scrumptious desi ghee Dal Baati and Churma.
