About Puerto Morelos
There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy Cancun’s natural setting, and if you love swimming and diving as much as I do, you have to see the reefs. In Puerto Morelos, there are plenty of fishermen who are willing to take you offshore to the nearby shallow reefs. The water is clear, the visibility is great, and we spent two hours snorkeling, relaxing and looking at colorful fishes and turtles. The famous Cancun Underwater Museum is located nearby, but unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to visit it that day.

We’ve got to give it to the Mayans for their excellent taste in architecture, evident in the centuries-old temples. Overlooking dreamy beaches along a rugged coastline, Tulum’s ruins are reflective of its modern day outlook— stylish and smug. What once was a quiet, laid-back town has turned into a luxury destination replete with nightclubs, spas, yoga retreats, fine dining restaurants, and plush resorts. A thriving expat community—a stylish one at that—has descended upon the town in the last decade and built hotels and restaurants that have seamlessly blended with native Mexican styles. Before Tulum turns into an Ibiza, pack your Bohemian outfits and rush here.Best weather to visit from April to May and November to March.
