Maitreya Buddha - Diskit Monastery Ladakh

Maitreya or Metteyya is regarded as a future Buddha of this world in Buddhist eschatology. In some Buddhist literature such as the Amitabha Sutra and the Lotus Sutra, this being is referred to as Ajita.
