Hello, Valley of flowers National Park is in Garhwal division of Uttarakhand. You can visit this awesome place via Ranikhet or Via Srinagar, but the short and idol route is via Ranikhet and the best time to explore this astonishing place is monsoon i.e. from June end to Sep (July and August are perfect months)as most of valley is seen covered with flowers. The trek is 38km long and ideally it takes 4 days to cover it if you trek about 6 hrs everyday. While listening 6 hrs trek per day sounds hard but the beauty, +ve vibes and the excitement to reach the top will help you a lot to move forward. It starts from govind ghat base camp. Entry to Valley of Flowers opens at 7.00 am every day and last entry is allowed till 2.00 pm. You should start back around 1 pm so as to reach back by 5.00 pm. Hope this information will help you in your planning. Have a great journey.
Hey Susmitha, Valley of flowers and the Hemkund trail is the absolute best monsoon trek in India. July to September is the best time to visit. I reiterate, no other monsoon trek comes remotely close to this. A seven day affair, like none other. P.S. Since you climb to an elevation of around 14000 ft, make sure that you are physically prepared for the attitude. P.P.S. It is going to be a rainy affair. Carry your rain coats. Have fun! If you are greenery lover with snow clad mountains at the background then this month will suit you. But I'll suggest you to travel with some caution and stay updated to weather conditions as lot of landslides occur in Uttarakhand during monsoons and travelling to hills becomes risky.
