Hi Paul, Yes, it is true that there are a few new rules and regulations in place for Kheerganga trek. Permits: A permit is now required to trek to Kheerganga. You can get the permit from the Forest Department office in Manikaran. Carry your own tent: There are no longer any shops or dharamshalas in Kheerganga, so you will need to carry your own tent and sleeping bag.
The hot spring is destroyed: The hot spring in Kheerganga has been destroyed due to a landslide. There is still a pool of water, but it is not hot anymore.
