It will be raining incessantly in Manali during those dates, which means there will be a risk of cloudbursts and landslides. So even though the roads might be fine, travelling to the mountains will be dangerous during July. Even though Egypt has been rife with political turmoil in the recent years, the country should be safe for tourists. But stick to the major cities and tourist destinations and keep tabs on the daily news.

We were thinking Tillamook but it's too far north d makes a 9 hour drive turn into a 14 hour drive. Then we thought right in the middle... Trinidad.... But it looks Grey and I wonder u can swim at those beaches. Other thoughts Mendicino, Crater lake, Tahoe...

They way you've put it, the first option sounds much more fun- staying along the coast!

Hi Karthik, Depends on what experiences you are looking for. If you want to experience the freedom and learn about yourself and spend time talking to travellers from all over the world go solo. If you want to make memories with people you love and experience beauty with them go in group it also reduces travelling cost significantly.

Your friends are right. It is going to rain real bad in August.

Hey there, I have been to Manali in the month of July. And it rained heavily. You will not be able to enjoy the real beauty of Himachal. But if you want to see Manali in lush green way, you are good to go. It is also prone to landslides when it rains. So I don't think it's the best time. Hope I helped. :)
