Hyderabad Tour Packages

Known as the Pearl City of India, Hyderabad is one of the most culturally rich cities in India. The last few years have seen impressive growth in the city and with an influx of multinationals, the city is now home to thousands of professionals. A growing urban city, Hyderabad is a beautiful mix of traditional and modern and is a delight to discover.

Known as the City of Nizams, Hyderabad is known for its delicious local cuisine and several tourist attractions. As is with all cities, the best way to explore Hyderabad is by booking Hyderabad tour packages. Of course, the kind of Hyderabad tour packages you book will depend on your budget and travel preferences. You can book Hyderabad tour packages completely customised on historical places or can choose a more adventurous experience where you can explore places near Hyderabad.

Hyderabad is situated on the banks of the Musi River and can be traced back to Asaf Jahi rulers. It’s said the city has always been ruled by leaders who believed in the importance of art forms. From art, literature, culture, jewellery to music, dance and local cuisine – Hyderabad is a delight for architecture enthusiasts, photographers, history lovers and art buffs.

Hyderabad Highlights

What strikes travellers about Hyderabad is the dramatic contrast between the old city and the urban part of the city. The old city is marked by narrow lanes, the aroma of fresh kebabs and busy bazaars, while the modern part of the city takes one through high-rise buildings, global offices and swanky apartment complexes. Of course, one can’t choose between these two parts and if you book Hyderabad tour packages, you can experience both.

Among the most popular places, which is included in Hyderabad tour packages, Charminar is on top of the list. Known as the Mosque of the four minarets, Charminar is loved by architecture buffs for the intricate work and its cultural importance. The monument is supported by four beautifully carved pillars which is what gives the minaret its name. Culturally and religiously important, the monument was constructed in the year 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah of Shah Dynasty. The best time to visit Charminar is in the morning. This not only gives you time to explore the monument at a comfortable pace but also lets you include Laad Bazaar in your Hyderabad tour packages. One can also include a visit to Makkah Masjid in Hyderabad tour packages while visiting Charminar.

Another charming highlight which is a part of all Hyderabad tour packages is Golconda Fort. The mesmerising fort is situated 11km from the city so you might have to plan your trip in the morning to assure you can spend enough time here. The name of the fort translates to Shepherd’s Hill and it was founded by the Kakatiya Kings. With eight gates and 87 bastions, the fort was also built by the Qutub Shahi Kings and stands tall as one of the best places to visit in Hyderabad tour packages. Before planning your trip, remember that a tour of the fort is allowed only till 5 pm. If you’d like to visit the fort after sunset, you’ll have to take tickets for the enthralling light and sound show – which can also be included in customised Hyderabad tour packages.

Among the highlights of the fort, visitors must take note of the exceptional water supply system. With dikes and canals, the fort was well-equipped and self-sufficient. Another thing that will catch your attention is that the Golconda Fort is known as the place where precious diamonds were stored. The world-famous Kohinoor and Hope Diamond were said to have been mined here. We highly recommend including the light and sound show in your Hyderabad tour packages to learn more about the culture and history of the city.

If you are travelling with family, especially children, Ramoji Film City is one of the best places to visit in the city and should be a part of all Hyderabad tour packages. The tourist attraction is located about 30km from the main city and the best way to reach is by hiring a private taxi. Set up in 1996, Ramoji is the best way to spend time in this vibrant city.

A part of the Guinness Book of World Records and one of the best places to include in Hyderabad tour packages, Ramoji is spread over 2500 acres and is one of the largest studios in the world. One can take a tour of the city to admire film sets of several classics. You can get yourself clicked on famous films sets which include a replica of the Hollywood sign, a London street, Japanese gardens and stunning buildings. There are several tours which take place in Ramoji and we recommend including a few in your Hyderabad tour packages if you want to truly experience the attraction.

Another popular attraction in Hyderabad tour packages is Hussain Sagar Lake. Said to be one of the largest artificial lakes in Asia, it was excavated during the reign of Qutub Shah kings. The biggest attraction in Hussain Sagar Lake is the mesmerising white statue of Lord Buddha. Situated in the midst of the lake, the Buddha statue is the main highlight of the light and sound show.

If you want to see the statue closely, you can take a ferry ride to the statue. There are regular rides which take travellers to and fro at nominal prices. If you are travelling with little ones, there are numerous activities which should be a part of Hyderabad tour packages such as boating, parasailing and water skiing to keep them busy.

For shopaholics, a popular attraction in Hyderabad is Laad Bazaar. The market is located in the old city and offers visitors a plethora of things including clothes, jewellery and perfumes. If you are looking for traditional clothes or jewellery, you can take back sarees with exquisite zari work, lac bangles and pearl jewellery. As is the case with all markets in India, your bargaining skills can go a long way in taking home a good deal.

The best time to visit Laad bazaar is in the evening when all the shops are open and you can expect to find the best deals. You can also combine your visit to Laad Bazaar with Charminar in Hyderabad tour packages to save time.

History lovers can also include a visit to the majestic Chowmahalla Palace. Considered to be one of the top places in Hyderabad tour packages, the palace literally translates to ‘four palaces’. Restored by the government in the year 2005, it offers travellers a peek into the glorious past. Surrounded by lush gardens and a water fountain, there are four palaces here. Among the palaces, Afzal Mahal is the biggest and one of the most beautiful. If you have time, you can include a guided tour of the mesmerising palace in Hyderabad tour packages.

Hyderabadi biryani
Passed down from the kitchens of Hyderabad’s Nizams, this much acclaimed biryani is fiery and comes in two varieties – kacchi (raw) and pakki (cooked). The kachhi biryani involves marinating the meat overnight in spices and curd and then layering it with rice next, to be cooked at a particular temperature. The pakki biryani involves the meat being marinated for a shorter time and cooked separately from the rice. The two elements are then layered together before being cooked by the dum method.
This waterfall is located in the Sanguem Taluka of Goa, and falls into the jurisdiction of the Goa Forest departments since it is a part of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. One can go by road or rail to Kulem railway station and then trek to the waterfall to get closer in; however, there will still be a walk to reach the base of the falls.
We boarded bus to Hubli on Friday evening and reached there in dawn hours. From there we caught Vasco Da Gama Express at 7'O clock and reached Kulem station around 12PM.
“After the Golconda fort, I headed to the Qutub Shahi tombs. I was amazed to find such a beautiful but secluded and quiet place in the middle of the hustle-bustle. The tombs are frequented often by people of different religions. A guided tour is available at the gate. More than all the information from a historical perspective, there is a sense of calm which one can experience there. You can not miss the old world charm in the architecture as well as the wall paintings and carvings.” – Neha Chandok

“After eating, you can head to Golconda fort, which is roughly 11 kilometres from Begum Bazaar, you can go to Mehdipatnam first and then take a bus from there to the fort. The entry ticket is merely Rs 5 and they charge Rs 25 for videography. Rule Number one, click a photo of the fort map or the list of places inside the fort (usually on a board). This will act as a checklist on the journey.” – The Travellist

“The Salar Jung Museum houses the personal artifacts, counting over 10 lakh items, of Salar Jung III spanning several centuries. It is one of the largest one-man museums in the world and India’s largest by area. I was personally impressed by the size of the daggers the historical figures wielded.” – Abhijit
